    Ukrainian special operations command posted on social media that they will not accept surrender of Russian artillery crews and that said crews would be killed regardless.

    Declaration of no quarter like this is universally considered a war crime.

      There are some limited allowances for Reprisals. By declaring who/what/why in an official capacity, they are actually somewhat within "legalised warcrime" territory.

        Only if they can prove that Russian Artillery wasn't aiming at military or militia positions. Which, given the Ukraine has called for general armament of the civilian populace, will be pretty hard to do.
