But yeah, you'll generally find a lot of "white Gen Xers" having a video game channel and either being solidly centrist when it comes to politics (or neutral) or at least somewhat right-wing (and I do mean at least since they can range to very right-wing as well).

I think the appeal to stans is that he is a 'logical' person who is willing to debate anybody and is willing to change his mind. He is ignorant and anti-intellectual, but he does have research streams which try to give the impression that he is knowledgeable. Also his life is really chaotic so it's like the appeal of reality TV.
I have that issue too. I've tried to watch some of the debate-lord content before, and I just cannot for the life of me understand why people would go out of their way to hear these people's opinions when they offer no relevant expertise or insights and have the personality of a dirty cat-box.
