This is what Roe v Wade still being upheld looks like. This is the status quo liberals are happy with.

This is also what the slow breakup of the US is gonna look like. The current court system and especially SCOTUS has a heavy bias towards "non-interference". This was the obvious result of that Texas law and they still decided to do nothing. The courts will scream "if you don't like it then pAsS a LaW!!!" all the while the US completely breaks down.

Though I do worry that if the courts ever decide to get active again, it will be to enforce fascism nationally.

SCOTUS doesn't have a heavy bias towards "non-interference", that's just the cynical pretext the Republican majority often hides behind. The moment that states deviate to the left, they are more than happy to rediscover federalism and the equal protection clause (plus absurd interpretations of it).

But both directions assist in balkanization, so the point stands anyways.

rightly so that's what a court is unelected judges who have their position for life handing out the legislation they think best is no way to run a country. The politicians should pass a law and to do so they should actively try and convince people not to oppose abortion

I'm moving out of Texas in a few days and can't wait. Sure, the whole US sucks ass, but Texas basically has all the worst qualities of the US amplified.

PSA: you do not have to be currently pregnant to get abortion pills from AidAccess. https://aidaccess.org/en/
If stored properly, they can have a shelf life of 1.5-2 years (expiration dates are printed on the packaging).

from the same folks that used to campaign about 'Tort Reform' because too many exploited poors were able to extract large sums from the wealthy due to lawsuits

Idaho: come for the potatoes, stay because you got an abortion or helped someone get an abortion and got locked up.

there is a deeper underlying issue here in that the abortion debate is not being had by discussion of the merits of abortion but via legal technicalities. which means that it will likely go on forever.

the legal move that needs to be made is a mandate for abortion to be legal none of this "medical privacy" crap that's weak.

politicians should pass a law making it actively legal not just difficult to enforce on technicalites. If the politicians can't get the votes they should campaign for them
