Bernie, if they ever let you be president, it's because they're setting you up to take the fall for the mess they made.

Imagine the past two years but everything's being blamed on Socialism instead of Sleepy Joe.

Not just by the people who blame everything on Socialism, but by every single corporate media outlet, every single blue checkmark, every single retired General and Admiral, every single professional ghoul. The established Libs and Cons would unite and rally under the "Fuck Bernie Sanders and Fuck Socialism."

The pandemic? Inflation? Russia's invasion of Ukraine? The housing market? Global warming in its entirety? ENTIRELY BERNIE SANDERS AND HIS SOCIALIST NONSENSE TO BLAME.

Obama would host speeches where he reassures "our Republican brothers and sisters" that this is a temporary hiccup in the Democratic Party's modus operandai, and they will correct course to ... giving the Republicans 90% of everything they want ... as soon as Sanders and his pack of embarrassing radicals are primaried out in 2024.

Fuck, I wish I could send all this information back to myself in March 2020 so I wouldn't have shed tears over Bernie's loss. Thinking about about everything that's happened has made me happy he lost and didn't go on to inherit all of that.

Honestly, Bernie being super popular and then losing might be the best case scenario

YEAH. Right about now we would have been deep in "socialism is when empty shelves" in a serious way. Could have been really fucking bad for us

Yeah I've come to a similar conclusion about Corbyn in '19, even if by some miracle he'd pulled it off he'd become PM right before Covid and you'd have every single mainstream news source in the UK pushing anti mask shit and calling lockdowns "Stalinist" or some bs.

That would require the threat of worker uprisings and a sympathetic communist state. We currently have neither.

I mean sure I'll vote for him. Kinda feel like the moment is passed though. I can't see myself at this moment donating more money and/or phone banking.

He abandoned the race during covid Ran interference for Biden during all of this shit. Proved himself to be another democrat, his "movement" revealed itself to be hollow and push nothing forward and just sell our emails to the DNC.

    No Bernie, fuck off

He wasn't going to win and trying would have cost people's lives. What should he have done?

That's the craziest part. His campaign wanted people to think he was the same as Warren and Biden, his biggest challenges. They wanted a seat in a dem cabinet, not to ever win. Which is why I agree with Puddinbrain on this, if they never really intended to win or actually run AGAINST anyone else, then it would have been better to organize at least and let out some anger towards the dems. Instead they gathered up a nascent...something and then slit its throat in one move.

Biden cost lives just to beat him, at least call him on it. If he was so concerned about that then why give Biden a prize for killing them? Or make no further demands that people NOT be thrown out to die? He should have actually opposed Biden, at any point in the fucking campaign, but especially when Biden killed his own voters and promised to handle covid the exact same as Trump was.

And dont give me that shit about that not being how power works, yeah no duh we are communists we know that, but if Bernie fully believed that he wouldn't have tried running especially not the way he did. From where he was standing he could have tried to make Biden concede something, at least pretend to demand anything. But instead he bent over for Biden and all but praised him for costing people their lives and gave him a cookie for it by telling his supporters to vote for Biden right away. He incentivized killing people so he could be defeated. He didn't have to endorse Biden, he didn't have to run interference for the dems every step of the way AFTER.

It's not like Bernie disappeared after he dropped out, you know? Giving all his organizing to the dems, that wasn't saving lives? Or did him backing Biden moving forwards these past 2 years somehow stop people from dying from covid? He should have and could have done a fucking LOT of things, instead he rewarded the DNC for their shit and then did what he could to further assist them even when he was out. If it was just a concession it wouldn't be that bad, but he gave them everything

If he runs I will probably vote for him again purely because I know he pisses off libs and the democratic party broadly. Or I might just get high and forget, since the country is doomed to decline anyway, and I'd rather focus on what little joys in life I can manage before I'm homeless or dead.

Get high with friends, and start building dual power with them. The rise of fascism may fuck up the world, but it doesn’t have to fuck up YOUR corner of the world.

I love how they're doing propaganda against him in the very first article about whispers that he could run again

Still, many Democrats see Sanders as a polarizing figure whose socialist label and association with Democratic candidates could hurt in the general election, particularly in swing areas, dragging down candidates.

One paragraph after the quote mentioning that he's the most popular officeholder in the country :capitalist-laugh:

Unlike Biden in 2020, who didn't drag down down-ballot races at all lmao

Best line in the Elizabeth Warren beer catastrophe is, to her husband, ‘Thank you for being here. I’m glad you’re here’. It’s their house, he’s supposed to be there!

Warren vs Trump would be simply incredibly funny :trump-anguish:

social democracy achieves nothing except a temporary postponement of capitalist decline by allowing concessions to the (imperial core) working class that are to be rolled back at the first opportunity. It's just pushing the burdens onto the next generation, and onto the 3rd world. He's only better if that's an acceptable end goal. Revolution or reform? :rosa-shining:

that being said yeah i guess i'll vote for flattened bernie if he runs :flattened-bernie:

revolution in the 1st world has to have at least a shred of electoral backing or everyone will simply be slaughtered

I'm not donating a red cent or volunteering a second of my time this go around, but obviously having a popular challenger to the left of practically every democrat is good.

Succdem grandpa might have killed Rosa but at least he'll push the Overton window to the left and once again demonstrate the futility of electoralism. M4A and Student Debt Cancellation are more popular than ever and he'll at least make the right wing Dems make campaign promises they'll never institute so I can keep saying "I told you so"

Not that it matters cause the Dems are gonna get absolutely steamrolled by the DeSantis/MTG ticket
