Alot, like the return of banned chuds and unbanning Trump?

Nothing, since Musk is a compulsive liar?

Nazis already call the shots with the public discourse.

The left needs alt-tech. Hexbear is the only explicitly leftist site I can think of besides leftypol. Mastodon is already compromised by the nazi plague.

Trump likely comes back, I doubt much else noticeably changes though. People will pretend it's a lot different though, both chuds and libs.

My expectation is not much. Maybe moderation policies will change to be more friendly to the right. I think that a lot of the people who have been getting paid in stock will quit after they get their cash payout and they'll have a hard time hiring people going forward, especially if they (1) start demanding return to office and (2) stay in san francisco due to cost of living. The salary they will pay may not be able to keep pace with the wider industry that offsets salary costs through diluting investors, so they'll have a harder time hiring. Elon is kinda polarizing even in the tech industry so that may not help.

So basically I think that there will be some policy changes but anything that requires developers will be deprioritized. Twitter is already really slow to ship changes, this will only make them slower.

There's literally no way they could stay in SF and force return to the office. There is a lot of tech workers who would love to work for the new Twitter, but 0.0% of them would live in SF. I wouldn't be surprised if he moves HQ to either Miami or Austin.

I think that there will be some policy changes but anything that requires developers will be deprioritized

This is as a feature, and for good reason - you don't need as many developers if you aren't trying to manipulate and censor the platform. Will it be profitable, as in it can still be monetized without those algorithms? That's another story.

I mean it kinda depends on what they want to do. If he just wants to open it up and let it rot, sure, but he's been talking a lot of shit about having some kind of "human verification" and whatnot and complains a lot about bots. That stuff will absolutely not happen in any reasonable timescale if they start losing people.

Realistically could it be worse? I really don't know what he is getting for his money since it is fully tech bro libertarianized anyway. Maybe rhey will delete negative press on him faster? I dunno, this has to be some combination of tax dodge and vanity project

My guess is that he will use it to pump his stocks and maybe a bunch of ego stroking shit, I seriously don't know what else can he get out of twitter. Like he could ban union accounts maybe, but that would not be a good look and would hurt the luster of legitimacy and just accelerate the trend of twitter being sort of passé. I think he will end up selling for less.

the twitter TOS will quietly introduce a clause that allows the banning of tesla shorts and journalists who elon musk declares to be liars

He said he wants to change the algorithm up. If that's not a blatant lie, then it's gonna boost right wing views a la youtube.
