In the Bloomberg survey, a large share of the respondents voiced concerns with Biden’s age and a significant percentage said Trump was dangerous, and suggested the number of “double haters”, as pollsters call voters who approve of neither candidate, is significant.

Those findings were broadly repeated in Saturday’s Times poll. Biden’s approval rating came in at 38%, with Trump faring better with a 44% favorable rating.

Nineteen per cent of voters said they disapproved of both men, but among them Biden is slightly less hated, with a spread of 7% between Biden (38%) and Trump (45%). That spread, according to the Times, is significant: the candidate less disliked by “double haters” has won the last two presidential elections.

    ‘double haters’

What a great and unreal (yet obvious plausible) term for our insane era. I wish I had thought of that for my lib parodies.

More often than not when I see an image of Biden I wonder if it's an AI image because goddamn his eyes are so beady he has reached the stage of old classified as, "as fuck" and the airbrushing or whatever they do makes him look weird.

Democracy is when you decide which faction of the genocidal corporate oligarchy should destroy your future.

Honestly, I'm not sure how to feel about this. I'd bet dollars to donuts that a good portion (albeit not majority) of that figure is made up of hogs who hate him because he's a Maoist-Obamaist Chinese sleeper agent who is bribing immigrants with gold bars to come attack poor defenseless cops and bully small town teachers into spreading le wokisme and LGBT ideology. So entrenched is the spectacle and distortion in American society in part because "the economy" is doing fine relative to the past few years. The genocide in Palestine has this caveat that while many Americans are coming to see Biden as the out-of-touch ghoul he is (albeit not nearly enough to convince radlibs that he isn't worth voting for), the Right has also been having a field day by framing him as impotent against hordes of "Hamas supporters" supposedly from within his own camp.

Not to marx-doomer about it, just saying we need to rein in our expectations since the Left is still weak.

This, but I should hope that people on this site already know that Biden's getting destroyed in approval does not mean that there's any strong left in America, or that the Trump hogs haven't increased in number and fervor.

Do any leftists actually think this is a sign of a strong left? I thought it was pretty clear that Biden is just hated by most normal people

Lmao. That's how they will justify not having to change anything.

Biden's campaign team: "Don't worry, we're doing fine. The double haters hate us just a bit less. Things are looking good. Don't change a thing." berdly-smug

The phrasing is important "the last two elections" are just Trump/Biden and Trump/Hilary.

This means it wasn't true before that. Extremely weak pattern to pin their hopes on.

calling it a "high disapproval rating" instead of a "low approval rating" is a journalistic sleight of hand. they're hoping people read too fast and fail to notice the "dis-" prefix.

They could have someone better, no? Surely they will flip him. I have seen him go off teleprompter at times for years now, enough to see the man is not fully there. Anyone would if they saw the interviews themselves. Not the clips on most news.

It is the Highest Office on the land, they can surely pick someone else, who is not in mental decline out of their pool. In fact both parties should put a limit on ages, I recently looked at it, there are a number of 70+ in the Feds.

Last physical he had just last week, conveniently did not test for mental decline. This was right after his couple of disastrous mistakes in public. It is as if his staff knew something. No wonder their statement elsewhere was more or less, 'no new issues were seen.' Well, duh. Obviously.

      https://www.npr.org/2024/02/28/1234438761/biden-physical-report

"President Biden got his latest physical on Wednesday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center — an evaluation that the White House said drew on the expertise of 20 doctors but did not involve a cognitive exam.

The will be closely scrutinized since Biden, now 81, is the oldest person ever to hold the office of U.S. president, and voters have expressed concern that he is too old for a second four-year term in the job.

Concerns about Biden's age were amplified this month by a about Biden's handling of classified material that described him as a "sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory."

Most are out of touch dinosaurs.
