You call Rosa Luxemburg by her first name because it reminds you of your servants

I do it because I forget how to spell her last name.

    We’re not the same.

My assumption is that half the time these "hot takes" are purposefully written to grab attention so these people can plug their podcast. Like how every NYT op ed starts with "I think we should force feed babies shit" so you click on the article to get mad at it

Tbf that's also just the kind of take that has historically been run in the NYT, even pre-internet

I am pretty sure this guy is joking, he regularly makes jokes trolling other leftist discourse. And he is really good at having other Marxists that don't understand his humor take it as serious.

This is like an F-tier struggle session. Our worst struggle sessions are better than this.

I always got the impression that Twitter is where seriously dysfunctional people go when everyone in their family and rapidly dwindling circle of friends has broadly wised up to their bullshit and stopped feeding them the attention they crave for their shitty behaviour.

That's what I used Twitter for before I mouthed off too much and got banned.

Imagine knowing someone who can afford servants. What the fuck. This is literally a stereotype I do not understand because I’ve never seen anyone do this, even the more well off people in my life

To be fair you can just watch some movies and see it there too.

I don’t have a lot of life experience, so I have no idea what “addressing domestic servants by their first names” feels like …

This is a massive stretch. Going out of your way to awkwardly police language while purposefully avoiding any sort of historical context and pointless internet drama is peak Lib shit.

"While it had some comedic value, I feel like I'm worse off for having engaged with this tweet."

"2/5 would unilaterally ban the account that tweeted this."

My buddy got kicked out of a book club once for calling Rosa Luxemburg "Rosa".

The person who got offended was like "WELL YOU DONT CALL MARX 'KARL' DO YOU??"

Okay well maybe we're just lazy as fuck and want to save syllables, not sexist

I do call him Karl. I always refer to him as grandpa Karl with my friends. Just like I cal Lenin Mah boi Lenny, or Stalin Joey. People just go out of their way to find shit to complain about, as if life isnt hard enough.

We all literally refer to Che by his nickname, and guys like Lenin are pseudonyms. We dont get yelled at for saying Tito, instead of Broz

I mean.. I feel more kind hearted parasocial connection to Marx as a weird dysfunctional raccoon man who would need to be reminded to eat and you'd probably have to pay for his drinks most of the time but you know his heart's in the right place.

And I think of Rosa as more of a war leader who balances being a hard ass with humanist motivations and has to run the gauntlet of being taken seriously as a woman in a very prominent and important role.

Of the two of them Marx us the uwu manic pixie dream socialist.

Maybe because Luxembourg is a country. Also, most people just call her rosa if not her full name.
