Quite an extensive thread linked above

I always knew in my heart he was a Texan and being a German Texan from one of its most Hitlerite suburbs is just chefs-kiss

Edit thanks @Gay_Tomato@hexbear.net

Here's the blog post of the op with more info and the bonus of not needing a twitter account.

bern-disgust I am once again asking you not to bodyshame fascists.

He's not gonna read it, but your comrades are. And I bet more than one of them have a similar body type.

Wow the explicit white supremacist is from Texas, color me shocked.

it was already known he was from Texas, if I recall. One of the reasons Stonetoss got connected to Red Panels was that he was so sloppy with his infosec that the twitter accounts for both comics ended up following the same BBQ joint in... some major city in Texas, don't remember which

The dox is a great read on how they did it. . Lots to learn how NOT to erase yourself from the internet. Basically, don't spill yourself online, don't reuse names, don't use your real name ever.

If you want to skip MOST of the bad crap or just want the details of what they did: ctrl + f "Joining The Dots" on the accollective link in the OP.

Some key parts: Followed a BBQ place on both twitter accounts Mentioned he was at an 8chan event in New York on reddit. Was in a gab leak and used his first intial last name email Reused some bitcoin forum username to promote his comic on reddit Reused even more accounts for reddit and twitter (and boosted his comics with them) confirming the link. Did some weird shit that makes it incredibly obvious his name is "important" like: Remove his name from random obits, claim a bunch of websites with his firstname/lastname email, have his house censored on google, and botch some scrubbing.

Not related to the dox per-say but: Worked for a soy company in Nebraska and got 23 bitcoins stolen.

I feel like I do a pretty good job of preventing my own doxxing but damn, reading through this breakdown makes me feel like it's a nearly impossible task if you're online long enough

Browser finger printing, SNI leakage, and unencrypted DNS all contribute to you being found out by any dedicated threat actor.

I'm not sure how SNI or unencrypted DNS is going to be a threat from anyone but government or corporate spies, your average internet doxxing is not going to include MITMing. Browser fingerprinting will be somewhat of a deal if you can at least make the target visit your website(s).

genuinely ouch, that would be lifechanging money for me (if I could sell them which I know is harder than it sounds).

Mentioned he was at an 8chan event in New York on reddit

Reminds me of the reddit guy who moderated all of the now-blacklisted subreddits from the early days, who showed up to a meetup with like twenty people and ten years later got doxxed because of it.

Yeah I can't imagine having that much just sitting around and not liquidating it. If I win $500 at blackjack I practically sprint to the cashier to get my winnings, lmao.

You can immediately picture the guy in a brownshirt and with little Hitlerjugend pants, all red-cheeked and beaming as he's walking home from a day of target shooting and learning about the threat Jewish swing musicians pose to the innocence of Aryan women.

At least it's a small comfort to know this guy hates himself more than any of us ever could based on the fact he draws all his strawmen leftist soyboys to look exactly like him.

Honestly, it’s becoming super easy to dox now the way that most platforms have tracking links. It’s actually probably a good idea for me to delete my hexbear account and start fresh, come to think of it

If only I wasn’t attached to the very dumb idea of being part of the first wave of people to come over after the /r/cth ban

I'm one of the OGs myself. I delete my account every couple months and start anew. If you're ever sharing information about yourself, make something up about yourself or even have a personality sheet. If you're feeling particularly worried, I'd go as far to use chatGPT to mess with your writing style.

I'm from the r/cth days and have had just the one account. I'm not afraid of being doxxed because of my ironclad "being too unimportant and boring to be noticed" defense.

I've been here since the r/cth days, but I rotate names (without wiping accounts). That may not be the best solution either, but it works for me. Then again, I'm not a famous (nazi) cartoonist, so I doubt anyone would go to the trouble of even trying to dox me. It's also not like hexbear has the kind of tracking apparatus that major social media sites do.
