trans women are just inherently superior, extremely powerful, truly eviscerating cis women in every regard. we just have so many more bones, its just too easy :shrug-outta-hecks:

What’s hilarious to me is that even if being trans somehow did give you a nominal advantage, it would still make sense to let trans women compete.

Variation in human form is what makes athletics cool. I’m straight up still powerlifting while taking HRT to keep as much muscle mass as I can. (Even with that though, I’m still losing muscle lol)

Fuck the patriarchy and the scared cissies. I am a buff af handsome lady.

Michael Phelps only produces half the lactic acid of the average person, which is an insane advantage.

Taking into account these natural differences, the ignorance of the effects of hrt on muscle mass, and the conscious and persistent ignoring of trans men, it's obviously just all transphobia and misogyny.

This is a bad example though because Michael Phelps is a transphobic sewer rat and should be put to death

Regardless of his stance, I think it's yet another example of a person with great "natural" advantages which are just ignored by transphobes. And a prime example, because he's one of the best in his sport.

I do think it's illuminating, that despite having such a huge biological advantage as producing only half of the lactic acid, it's not like he is winning every race by multiple lengths, or even just winning every race. People still compete with him.

Almost all top athletes are natural outliers. They're very skilled too, but you have to be top tier in natural physique and advantage or else you won't be able to beat the people equally skilled who are. Phelps doesn't dominate only because he's against other people who are just as advantaged in various ways.

Yes, I guess my point was that even someone who has a measured biophysical advantage, doesn't just swab the deck with all of the competition. Like, even if trans athletes had a physical advantage (as far as I can tell this is a myth anyway), they are up against other people who advantaged above the average too.

Thanks!! Everyone has feminine and masculine aspects to themselves. For me, it’s important to not throw out everything I view as masc and instead evaluate it.

There are also a lot of hella buff cis women. The big sister from Encanto with super strength was such a vibe and a gender for me :an-eco-heart:

The bigots have made it very clear that assimilation is a dead end. The only option is liberation (always was tbh).

Everyone should be able to sculpt/shift their body and gender to match who they really are. Cis or trans, bodily autonomy is precious. Being trans is a gift and it has power, which is part of why bigots are so obsessed with us.

That makes sense! I feel like I'm tied to the train tracks with the gender binary standing over me twirling its moustache villainously, and I kinda wish that I could break out of this old black-and-white cartoon and join you in playing beach volleyball in the sun. Then again, maybe I'm just looking for a way to give up since my goals seem out of reach. This stuff is confusing! But I love, love, love the idea that you're out there being so strong even when I can't. Trans comrades are the best!

I relate to that something fierce, sis. I have days where I’m a lioness and then others that are a slog. The number of good days is gradually increasing though and I actually am starting to see myself again when I look in the mirror which is delightful.

My point being is you’re not alone, dysphoria is fuck. Solidarity, you got this. :trans-heart:

Then again, maybe I’m just looking for a way to give up since my goals seem out of reach. This stuff is confusing!

If it helps, I’m only about a year in and started transitioning in my 30’s. The human body has an incredible ability to shift and adapt. It’s an ongoing process with a lot of little wins and it takes a little while for those bigger changes to happen. If you have questions, the trans comm here is pretty solid.

IT'S DISC GOLF. IT'S THE ONLY SPORT LESS PHYSICALLY DEMANDING THAN REGULAR GOLF. IF SOMEONE BEATS YOU, IT'S NOT BECAUSE THEIR BONES ARE HARDER OR THEIR MUSCLES ARE BIGGER, IT'S BECAUSE THEY'RE BETTER AT THE GAME. WHY DOES ANYONE TAKE THIS SHIT SERIOUSLY.

Also apparently according to people that watch disc golf in the comments, quite a few cis disc golf athletes can throw further and faster than the the trans athletes OP is moaning about, so yeah their talking points are bs to begin with.

Exactly. Natalie has won one of the fifteen events she's participated in this year. She's had a couple top ten finishes, but hardly some sort of dominant performance, compared even to like the current top few players in the sport.

A disc golf competition? Damn, the discourse around “trans women in sports” burned through the popular sports faster than the Air Bud movies. And it’s doing worse at hiding its cynical targeting of children

If it makes you feel any better, 4trans people are an extremely small number of losers who are then magnified by bigots. a lot of them are outright troll accounts too.

They’re in the same category as white trans people who “joke” about how they used to be nazis. They’re loud, but there aren’t a lot of them and everyone else thinks they’re gross

As my username implies to those who play, I like disc golf

But reading through that thread, I feel even more assured that "professional" disc golf is horrible and I'm glad I don't follow it one bit.

As I moved left politically, I gave up on ball golf and got back into disc golf. One the biggest reasons I got back into it was the chill, laid back attitude. People are waaaay more uptight when playing ball golf.

So this all seems totally anathema to the ethos of the sport, which is inclusive and relaxed. It's a fun sport but stay tf away from following the pros.

I generally like pro disc golf. It has a relaxed atmosphere and some cool players. Of course there are dickhead players like any sport, but generally the vibes are more chill. But like any sport thing or anything, just ignore the YouTube comments.

Be happy, live your life! However,

Hm, do people actually think that this line comes across as supportive? It's the same as "I don't care what they do in the privacy of their own bedrooms but..." It's jarring every time I see it.

It's pure liberal ideology. They spin virtue out of being indifferent to private decisions, but then they run into a brick wall when - oops - it turns out that hashtag we live in a society and the NAP is not remotely good enough. Practically no-one is a yeoman homesteader who can get by with metaphorically setting off for the frontier in a conestoga wagon with 500 bullets to hunt buffalo, but we still chug along on the fumes of that national ethos.

Love and acceptance are about more than just not actively trying to hurt someone.

I find it really hard to believe that any of these people normally give a single shit about women's disc golf (with respect to those who compete). Also, trans athletes have been allowed to compete in the Olympics for several seasons now, so where are all the trans medalists?
