So thats 2 presidents in a row without object permanence.

Seems us eaders are trurly more senile than the late soviet gerontocrats.

joe biden is probably senile yeah but this isn't leaders lacking object permanence, it's the electorate, with the leaders being well aware of that and acting accordingly in the (short term) interests of the bourgeoisie

Do not blame the electorate for this. Biden won in what was only a couple steps away from a coup, with a small plurality of votes. You shouldn’t blame the US populace for the suffering we’re having inflicted on us.

dawg it literally does not matter if trump won or biden won because the end result here would be the same, literally the only difference would be that liberals would be less inclined to believe mask off covid over bullshit because of the lib-conservative culture war dynamic forcing everything into a Stupid Duality but even then I'm pretty sure libs would be fine with Back To Normal as long as MSNBC/CNN/et al said "things are fine now"

the general american populace lacking an ability to remember things beyond last week facilitates but does not drive the course of events

:wojak-nooo: "Biden saying the pandemic is over wasn't a bad thinggggggggg! He meant it went endemic because nobody did anything and you dum dums don't know what endemic meanssssssss! No he didn't explain this in detail in an effort to try to explain it to everyone"

Wonderful. I'll be wearing a mask every winter from now on. It's good I can't tell how much danger I'm in.

did a search for excess death rates, and the results are almost exclusivly from anti-vax sources blaming the vaccines. :yea:

Seriously, I’m getting very annoyed by libs calling things Trumpian when Biden did it more/worse than Trump did. More people have died from covid under Biden than Trump, so if anything Trump had a Bidenist approach to covid.

It seems like there isn’t a tipping point anymore. Just a slow descent into fascism and decay. Ideology is so fundamentally ingrained in our psyche that we keep stumbling along in a state of absolute denial.

It's the most surreal, infuriating feeling. Everywhere I go people are getting more aggressive, more agitated, more stressed out. I see fights and shouting matches break out at the drop of a hat, not even about political shit. It's like everyone's anxious waiting for something but they don't know what, just itching for a catharsis that never comes.
