I used to live right by there for a long time lol. It wouldn't be boomers or karens, it's smack in the middle of Allston ("Rat City") right off the turnpike, near some graffiti that says "keep Allston shitty". There's a hardware store closer to the extremely bougie adjacent neighborhood, no one too wealthy would wander all the way up to the ACE
I adore Allston. One of the best neighborhoods imo (also on the cheaper end, probably even moreso now I assume especially with colleges being mostly online now, since it's a big student neighborhood.) - it still has character. JP and Dorchester are also pretty good, Somerville is also okay but it's getting expensive and gentrifying pretty rapidly
I mean probably not atm considering the pandemic. I'm not sure where they would've played but one of the best venue for local bands in the neighborhood just closed for good so it's hard to say
Yeah I'd believe that, I haven't been there in years at this point. That's pretty standard for everywhere in Boston sadly. JP suffers from semi-reliable transportation so it makes sense that it's happening there.
I want to believe

As someone who is looking at a fairly low-paying job in Boston, Rat City sounds fucking dope.

Does Toxic Narcotic still play shows there?

i mostly just wanted a reason to post that song after seeing you mention allston
Appreciate the advice. It's always tough to get a feel for various neighborhoods before you actually live there.
Oh totally. If you end up having questions about the area or commuting around there or whatever def feel free to hit me up, I can do my best
I haven't lived in Boston for a few years but I thought JP was getting pretty gentrified?
