      I use natural unsweetened peanut butter and fancy jams to fancy things up a bit. Blackberry is my go-to. I found a blackberry/elderberry/apple/raspberry blend jam once and those sandwiches were like an out-of-body experience.

    Sauteed mushrooms, fresh spinach, red onions, and tomatoes, lil bit of cilantro, jalapeno, hot sauce, on fresh bread.

      Also, pro tip on cooking mushrooms: They're much spongier than meat or tofu, and you really need to just start them cooking just in water or maybe a light sauce, wait till they suck that all up, then add your fat or heavier sauces. If you throw them right into an oiled pan, they suck up all the oil (or butter or w/e), and you have to keep adding oil to keep them from sticking, and you end up with them being heavy grease bombs.

      Hot Brown at the Derby

      I looked this up and I'm pretty sure it's a lasagna.

    Been making this one for a decade:

    • Sour dough
    • turkey breast
    • brie
    • thinly sliced golden delicious apple
    • arugula
    • honey Dijon mustard
    • mayo

    But all sandwiches are delicious.

        Apple on a sandwich hits really hard, adds a great texture. Same reason why Bahn mi is so good.

          Used to live close to a Vietnamese deli/grocery and damn do I miss their Bahn mi. The old lady who ran the place was a sweetheart

            I live next to a taqueria that specializes in tortas, they're really good but a little pricey. The only thing that bums me is that their burrito game is only okay. Their tacos are really good though.

    Breakfast sandwich. Doesn't even need to be fancy or anything, just egg, meat, cheese, and your choice of bread though I do prefer bagel.

    I used to really enjoy turkey with some cheese, spinach, pickle, mustard, pepper. Also italian subs. Ham, hard salami, and then something cured and spicy. Lettuce, tomato, tons of peppers, smoked provolone, oil and vinnegar, pepper relish.

    But I don't eat that stuff anymore and most of my foods are bowl based so don't even eat sandwiches anymore.

    Ok. I started making this 2 years ago and holy fuck

    • Very lightly toasted high quality white bread
    • Mortadella
    • thinly sliced brie
    • Large sandwich pickles slices, one layer entire sandwich
    • Ripe tomato, preferably a meaty one
    • Spinach, lettuce OR arugula
    • plentiful mayonnaise, preferably Japanese mayo that shit rocks
    • Brown mustard

    It HITS. Pro-level sandwich.

    I have also started making simpler sandwiches with ajvar. Ajvar is so fucking good oh my god. Meat cheese mayo lettuce and ajvar.

        It's a roasted red/orange pepper and eggplant spread from the balkans. It comes from a lot of different countries, and it's becoming a lot more available in the US recently
