How much would dropping alcohol completely help me lose some weight? I feel like I binge food when I'm drunk. Not sure how true that is though.
Alcohol is calorie syrup.
You could probably drop a pound a week by cutting out drinking for a month.
A lot, I lost 25 lbs when I quit binge drinking… 20 beers and half a pizza every other night is a lot of calories
No only will you lose weight, you'll sleep a lot better and wake up with more energy. I've been off the booze for a month or so now and it's great.
Alcohol really, really bloats you. Youll look a lot better after ~2 weeks without alcohol.
You’ll also sleep better meaning more recuperative sleep vs just passing out
Turns out,

It's poison! That's okay, I'll still keep drinking that garbage.
Quitting alcohol will improve every facet of your life unless it's the only way you socialize. That takes more time to rework.
Take a break to test it and see how you feel. It’s not like there will be any downsides to laying off the liquor for a minute. It’ll help your bank account too
It would help a lot but I started rowing 30 minutes a day and I'm losing weight AND being an alcoholic
It'll help - alcohol has a bunch of calories in it - I cut back drinking pretty drastically while I was on vacation and I think I did definitely lose a few pounds from that and some extensive walking for two weeks, even though I didn't really watch my food intake all that much. It'll be a definite step in the right direction.
As someone who drinks heavily 6 nights a week, I can almost unequivocally say it will help you lose weight
Edit: would be nice to get to 3 nights a week. Hashtag life goals. Trying this month lol
I drink vodka and soda water and it's still a bitch on the calorie count
Definitely more than beer, and less volume of liquid as well so less bloating, but it still packs it on if you're a daily drinker
I drink about 6-12 shots worth of rum every other night and use mixed sugar drinks as chasers.
Also more just from the metabolic changes. This isn't an insignificant amount of alcohol.
I recently cut my alcohol consumption significantly and have been losing a pound a week without any other lifestyle changes. You'll lose weight and feel better.
If you drink heavily 2-3 times a week I would assume that drinking heavily means at least 4 beers, which would average about 150-200 calories for a standard IPA or up to 300 for heavier beers. On the minimum side cutting drinking for a bit would remove 1200 calories from your diet or about half a pound a week not including the food that you would avoid binge eating. On the maximum side it could remove 3600 calories a week or over one pound on its own. So without resting calories in any meaningful way you could lose your excess weight in a half year to a year by eliminating drinking.
I moved from a legal weed state to the south temporarily and I've been drinking a lot more since as a result. I've gained like 20 pounds in the ~3 months I've been here. Alcohol fuckin sucks.
alcohol really is the worst drug out there in terms of fun effects compared to the damage it does to your body. shit sucks
