A paranoid security focused government doesn't need much of an excuse to shut it down. The simple fact that it portrays the USSR in a neutral or positive light is enough given their definitely not Nazism inspired de-communism campaigns. Someone might remember that most Ukrainians actually liked and wanted to be part of the USSR towards the end.

It still would. It's not like the games themselves are hosted on the blockchain, Steam is still the centralized bottleneck. If you have an NFT of a hat, Valve can still tell the blockchain game devs to remove the in-game item associated the NFT from someone's account and while the player might keep the NFT, without the hat it's worthless.

That "your perspective is always the same" function is actually really nice, I remember Battlerite had it so every match felt consistent. It's just that the game you're thinking of is a really funny and pathetic way to use it.

I mean, most companies whose services I use on a daily basis gather my data on behalf of the US government. I don’t really care what the Russian government does with my data, they don’t have cops that can drag me away like the US does.
It's probably a lot more relevant to Ukraine. Even simple stuff like peak playing hours or amount of time played could prove to be useful to intelligence analysts, especially if anything is personally identifiable.
Pretty much every always online game collects telemetry from players. Sometimes startlingly specific, personally identifiable information.
That said, it should be trivially easy to see if the game is sending out information or not.
