    MNSBC anchor on the shooting.

"It could have been worse if not for a rapid police response..."

I guess we've got to give them even more money. What else can we do?

Weird how they never praise firefighters for putting out a fire and saving lives but cops need trophies for every time they do their jobs for once

Or EMS for saving someone's life. Fun fact, your average paramedic only makes about $16 an hour for being the front line defense for people like not dying.

That shit sucks so bad. You would think that a capitalist society would pay some people what their job is actually worth by accident, but it seems like it is hard wired to pay the most important people peanuts and give millions to the most worthless.

After high school I went through half the training to be an EMT, then saw the conditions and pay and went "fuck that"

And it's truly amazing how fast we'll see their body cam footage. No legal issues. No technical issues. No issues of any kind. Funny how that works.

Literally every mass shooting the police get their boots sucked by the media setting the stage for even more funding, because WE NEED THEM :maybe-later-honey:

Can't wait to get into rolling gun fights on the highway during my morning commute to my job where I shoot at people who try to shoot my employer

Society would be a lot more interesting if they brought back dueling

Boss doesn't want to give you a raise? Challenge him to a duel, he either acquiesces or you shoot him

        Win-win

        • MaoTheLawn [any, any]

Depends on the rules of the duel

Often the richer party in duels back in the days of flintlocks had an advantage because they'd have specially modified guns. Super sensitive triggers, lighter frames, etc.

They'd offer their case of guns. The stooge, not knowing how sensitive the trigger would be ends up firing his shot early, leaving the baron to aim calmly and dispatch.

I'm now considering that duels were some kind of load bearing column of western society and getting rid of them was where it all went wrong

So a business that literally has armed security was also unable to protect people from a shooter. Interesting.

Look, we're getting better at this! Employee shoots up his employer, a bank? That's better than a kid shooting up a school, right?

Maybe if it was targeted but 12 people? There’s no way his employer was the only one killed

I'd be surprised if it wasn't targeted - 2 of the 4 people he killed were Senior VPs at the company

Accrding to LinkedIn profiles belonging to the victims, Thomas “Tommy” Elliott, was a senior vice president at Old National Bank. Juliana Farmer worked as a commercial banking agent, Joshua Barrick was a senior vice president in the bank’s commercial real estate group and James Tutt was a market executive.

I don't think those employees (Who, if they're tellers especially, are basically just retail workers) and customers deserved to die anymore than kids.

I have a friend who was a teller. Barely got over minimum wage and had about as many aggressive old people and incoherent customers as I did as a cashier. Didn't exactly look like living the rich banker high life

Watch as this gets an actual response to mass shootings. Probably won't be a good one, but it'll get politicians in to work to defend banks
