    https://uk.movies.yahoo.com/news/young-women-south-korea-spend-150000641.html

Young women in South Korea spend $700 a month on skincare.

One-third of Korean women between the ages of 19 and 39 have had some kind of cosmetic surgery, according to a 2020 Gallup Korea poll — 66 percent said they would go under the knife to improve their chances on the marriage market. Even more distressing, a 2007 survey by the brand Dove found that one in four Korean mothers advised daughters between the ages of 12 and 16 to go under the knife.

Over 56 percent of Korean men said they would break up with their girlfriend if she said she was a feminist.

Bad Korea seems like such a horribly repressive place for women. The aesthetic labour required to be tolerated by their incel freaks is so much more than in the west.

I’ve often said that the CIA should be arming women like they’re the mujahideen in the 80s.

Why would the CIA arm the women of Occupied Korea? Roving, raving incel men benefits the crackers at the end of the day because you can easily convince a dumb schmuck who feels like he has nothing to gain and nothing to lose to go commit murder and SA in another country.

Why would any south korean women ever go into a relationship with a south korean man at that point. Like even if you're truly dedicated to that "Heterosexuality" nonsense, I would be sorting Tinder by furthest away.

How is that? It just sounds like women are making the conscious decision to not look for anyone.

Tinder propagates the comodification of sexuality and relationships and perpetuates toxic masculinity. To put it very nicely. It and other platforms of its kind recreate the very culture we see so exeplified in South Korea.

The left should not support the transphobic, TERF ideology, gender essentialist, racist self hating 4B movement. That movement "feminism as neocolonialism" personified.

    warning: murder, SV, racism

Their forums have celebrated killing innocent men as well as sexually harrassing men, celebrated the sexual assault and rape of boys, and encourages having sexual relations with colonialist US troops, along with perpetuating racist tropes about Korean men. They are also extremely transphobic and homophobic. This movement will not lead to women's liberation.

Holy fuck, thank you for pointing this shit out. I see so many feminist accounts on social media celebrate 4B, and I actually get really scared because I'm transfeminine, and as I've said before, I always am skeptical of how much mainstream (non-TERF) feminists are really opposed to transphobia. Seeing this constant praise of the 4B movement just makes me really depressed and self-hating again because I'm sure these kinds of South Korean women would want to kill someone like me.

The 4B movement has been whitewashed (literally and figuratively) by western radical/egalitarian liberals and progressives in the media, as it serves the western interests of the continued colonisation of South Korea. A lot of it is based on propaganda based on Eurocentric ideology about the west and western men being more perceptible to social justice and equal rights and opportunities. Let's be clear, the kind of men engaging in sex and marriage tourism in South-East Asia ("passport bros" and the like) do not support social justice.

This kind of thing makes me lose hope in social progressivism, as a socially progressive person.

The solution to sexism is less westernisation and colonisation, not more!

Yeah, as a black transfeminine enby, I can't say I approve of this at all. Do progressives just not care about me at all? The message I get is that they'd be okay with me being treated like shit because they're promoting bioessentialism, alongside racism, that makes me an enemy. If westernization, white supremacy, colonization, and transphobia are going to be standard parts of progressive movements, I want nothing to do with them because I want to be involved with a movement that doesn't reinforce the feeling that I'm subhuman. That's why I started avoiding conservatives and began involving myself with revolutionary socialist ideology a lot more. The last fucking thing I need is to feel like I’m less than human on the basis of my race and gender identity because I’ve done that for too long already. It’s a familiar thought process that I’ve had enough of and I want to fucking change. I don’t seem to be getting a change of pace here at all, though. Wish me luck with not feeling depressed all day over this.

Holy shit that is genuinely beyond the pale. This whole time I was thinking it was just a tamer Divestor movement based on how fucked up Occupied Korea has been for the past couple decades, but that is so much fuckin worse thank you for the heads up. Also, holy hypocrisy in the "relations with US troops" do they think the troops won't SA them worse? I served; I know what those animals are like. Where do they think a serviceman will be Any different from any other west-poisoned man?

Thank you. I already pointed this out on another hexbear post about 4B, but this movement is explicitly extremely transmisogynistic and they are not trying to hide it. If we're trying to be a trans-friendly space this is not something we should be supporting.

Maybe I'm being a vulgar materialist but wouldn't the 4b movement be superstructural development (that is now affecting the base) emerging from the mode of production?

Yeah. But there are dozens of countries with really low birth rates (none as low as south Korea though) and they don't have a 4B movement (yet).

Part of me was like “Fuck, is that really true?” but wow is it hard to find any English articles that aren’t like “Korea’s birth rate is in decline but we’re definitely only going to talk about it in passive voice with no investigation into why.” Apparently this has been going on for way longer than the 4B thing?

I wonder if there is a movement of men who are willing to change their bullshit ways in order to not be straight up shunned by women. Like, to some extent the "I want a relationship" desire has to become stronger than "I refuse to do chores around the house and want to treat women like objects". Or maybe that's idealism and every vaguely left leaning idea of equality has been so thoroughly stamped out of worst Korea that it isn't an option

I can't speak for Korean manosphere ideology, but all i see of the Western equivalent is built very thoroughly towards a hermetically sealed world view were the tiniest bit of change will make you a beta cuck doomed to a lifetime of paying child support for somebody else's children. Inocculation against criticism is very central to incel, PUA, high value male and MIGTOW discourses. So within that ideological framework, doubling down in an attempt to become as alpha as possible and getting one of the last remaining tradwifes or becoming completely blackpilled are the only logical conclusions.

The phrase "South Korea has no first graders" had such "the west has fallen (mom took away my PSP)" energy I had to do a little digging to see if the numbers were being fudged - 157 elementary schools is about 2.5% of the elementary schools in ROK assuming this data from the ROK Ministry of Education is accurate. Not an insignificant percentage for something this crazy, but I'd like to see this data over time. I worry I sound like I'm awarding Pinocchios but it irks me to see that headline presented as if it's the majority of schools

I think shit's like actually dire in this regard in South Korea to the point I do not understand how this isn't being handled in any way. Going by current predictions in about 50 years there's only going to be half the population left and the average age is going to be 61. That is not a workeable state. They either need to fix their boning problems yesterday or become a nation of immigrants

I really doubt that this is because of the 4B movement. They probably take credit for it, but I get the sense they exaggerate their own size and how many people agree with them. Also, even if the men there are really bad for the women there, on a rational level, libido often has a way of overriding rationality, so I don't think almost every woman in Cringe Korea would just completely abstain.

4b started in 2019. Fisrt graders this year where mostly born in 2017.

The number of new students starting school was widely expected to drop this year, as only 357,771 babies were born in 2017 -- which is when most of the first graders for this year were born. It marked a steep drop from the 406,243 born the year before.
