Pretty funny how their only rebuttal is "You think Trump will be better?" And it's like, no, we don't.

We think life will be just as bad as Trump and that being forced to choose between two delusional, genocidal capitalists that uphold a genocidal, capitalist system is pointless. We are past the point of voting mattering, we need to stop pretending we live in a functional democracy and that we can survive playing their rules. We are in a oligarchal dictatorship, act like it.

      exactly

      It is simultaneously true that:
2024-2028 Trump will be worse than current Biden
2024-2028 Biden will be worse than current Biden

the solution isn't to vote for the "lesser evil" every four years in the hopes that things might eventually hypothetically get better because that strategy has failed. it has failed for decades. we have done the scientific experiment: does voting for the lesser evil work? and the results are in: no. instead of rejecting the results of that scientific historical experiment like flat earthers and vaccine deniers, let's try a new strategy that respects the science, and realize that the electoral system is fundamentally broken will not and cannot produce meaningful results for the working class, and so we must start taking action beyond electoralism to fix it

"oh buh but but maybe if I vote for Biden this year then we can push him left, and, and, and, Trump is a fascist and he'll become dictator I mean he didn't from 2016 to 2020 but he tried to very hard on january 6th and he might succeed this time and, but, but, we have to get Biden in and, sure I don't like him either but sometimes we just have to do it anyway it's the only choice we have, and--" please stop embarrassing yourself, you're a goddamn human being with dignity and agency. we need you to do your part in the movement to resist genocide and promote workers, not cry and obsess and write fanfiction about whatever farcical theater the bourgeoisie are putting on for you this year

Say Biden wins. Ok what comes after...you know rewarding a genocidial racist who ignores horrible environmental and infrastructure disasters, who lost women's and queer rights under his watch? What happens after the dem base is even more dejected and neglected? What happens in 2028?

Do they think the Republicans are going to position themselves to the left of the Dems who are now the Bush-Cheney party? Do you think Americans will have any more appetite for more of Biden's bullshit?

Most likely you'll get a 2 term younger more competent Trump. So now you're at 2032...2036 with compotent even worse in your face fascism. Then after that we might get a clean shot of which, due to the rachet effect and Democrats refusal to be an actual leftist opposition party on anything might give way to Democrat Trump and they'll play the same "harm reduction" cards they are playing now.

in the movement to resist genocide and promote workers

They played their hand though; they already stated they don't understand why people are so opposed to what's happening to Palestinians; they are directly telling you they don't care that missiles are being fired at apartment buildings and that you shouldn't either. Their temporary tears over the suffering border crossers was just political theater and they're surprised people were actually, seriously upset about it. They expect you not to care and think we're playing an angle they can't figure out.

I always love the Lesser Evil argument because they always seem to focus on the Lesser and not the Evil part of it. Why not pick something good? "Well that's just not realistic."

At that point it's time to scrap the whole thing and start from a different blueprint, because it's obviously wrong to keep having to choose evil.

As I've said. Liberals will implement Fascism just as hard (because Fascism is the end stage of capitalism), but, unlike committed Fascists, they'll whine insufferably about it.

Each panels requires one to be clueless about politics outside of the right wing bubble. Every single issue has at last one example of Democrats taking action to address the issue.

NO IT DOESN’T YOU CANT JUST MAKE THINGS UP HOLY SHIT.

Taking action is when you pay lip service to the problems without changing things in any material way. Or like on student loans when you send something out there specifically to sink and then go "We'll evaluate our options and try again" and then just don't do anything else.

Same, I've never felt so frenzied and news addicted while so completely helpless as I did when I was a daily r/politics reader. It's a corrosive, high strung place to be

Fascist is a word with an actual meaning. I know it’s fun to call the democrats fascists, but that’s incorrect and ridiculous.

You're right, they're a mixture of fascists and social fascists. Every liberal has been so thoroughly scratched at this point.

Ask them to define that word and you'll get the best dunk tank material ever. Liberals fundamentally do not understand how capitalism works and thus can't understand that fascism is just capitalism in crisis. Which makes it all fascism lmao

The worst offenders were, of course, from dot world. I wonder if lemmy.world has their own Jessica Ashoo on their admin team?

If anything Lemmy.World has been worse than Ashooh due to their extremely open and brazenly partisan banning and suppression of socialists. Reddit has hidden it behind layers of obfuscation and secondary policy that simply targets the left without it being open and obvious about it to the general audience. The neoliberals running dot world on the other hand have had absolutely none of this, they have openly stomped on the left's participation with the exact same fervor and brazenness as fascists.

Their goal isn’t to get people to vote Trump but push the democrats to work harder for their vote. They post in a gender queer instance.

I don't know, maybe the party that has done nothing but suck the GOP's dick for decades has no right to accuse anyone of "helping Trump".

Where the hell were you guys in trying to suppress the white vote? Queer people in Florida really could have used you guys to cut off aid to Florida and send in the military to wipe out the nazi protestors. The latter would at least intimidate enough people into leaving minorities alone.
