Still wondering what they mean by "she was right"?

Was it about normalizing relations with Russia?

    Was she right about Iraq?

Was she right to promote Trump as a candidate?

Was she right when she suggested drone striking whistle blowers?

Was she right when she said Mubarak's governemnt was stable?

    Was she right about Haiti?

As much as i loath HC I dont think we can pretend that wasnt largely a misogyny issue, its not like large swathes were being super principled and thats why she lost.

Do not underestimate how much people hate women.

Was it a woman issue? I feel like I did not get that from the election cycle at all. If anything large swaths of the populace thought she would be generally competent as president. She won the popular vote after all. If anything she lost because of her own pied piper strategy.

Eh, its non-zero but i think its dwarfed by every unforced error she made. She had baggage to a degree i don't think any candidate has ever had. People in the US had hated her for over 20 years. The only people who thought she was a good candidate were people who relied on the Clinton's vast patronage network.

The cottage industry of Hillary hate on the US right had a lot to do with sexism, but the hate could never have become as large as it was if not for her truely unique talent of making any attack or challenge 100x worse (i.e. I'm not baking cookies, deplorables, etc.)

It's impossible to quantify, but Obama got two terms despite prevalent anti-black racism. It was an uphill fight, sure, but it shows that an appealing candidate can overcome general discrimination.

If anything, Hillary should have had an easier time than Obama since the black vote is only 18% of the population whereas the female vote is 50%.

She somehow ended up losing the white female vote to Mr Grab'em By The P*say.

I think that would be more valid if she was less terrible and fucked up her campaign as much. It was a factor but I can't tell over how much she sucks.

i honestly don't think sexism really had much to do with her being entirely insufferable

There was definitely a lot of that but she literally lost because of a few thousand votes in 3 states. She won the popular vote. She actually won the election, but in this democracy™️, that doesn't get you elected.

"You were right about everything" is a common phrase she hears from all the sycophants sucking up to her because literally everyone in her circles in doing some form of networking. It's literally like that scene from Andor with all the political movers and shakers greasing each other up with utter bullshit.

I really liked that side episode from the Mandalorian, where a bunch of rich fuckers basically said, "Ehh, Republic, Empire, New Republic, who gives a shit? Stonks are up!"

I fucking hate that episode because its complete fucking bullshit that basically suggests the rebel alliance and the fall of the empire was basically meaningless and robs the original trilogy of all meaning and significance.

Basically all the sequel stuff suggests that the fall of the Empire was meaningless. It only took 30 years for new bad guys to come along and behave exactly like the Empire, because Disney are creatively bankrupt

And at the same time, the sequels are so mismanaged that the best they could do for theme park food was the blue milk

The idea that a successful rebellion and coup detat of the empire wouldn't have ended with a massive purge of the imperial officer class and its wealthy collaborators sounds like the most liberal brainwormed shit imaginable to me TBH.

Like ok sure: it makes sense to me that within the new Republic you would probably have influential figures who successfully downplayed their involvement and/or up sold what they could contribute to the new government enough that they were given a pass after renouncing the empire. I also believe and like the idea that many of these individuals publicly renounced the empire but either privately still agreed with it ideologically or straight up didn't have an ideology beyond maintaining raw naked wealth and power.

.... but FFS I simply just do not accept that you would be comfortable saying that shit out loud in public on the fucking floor of the senate. Privately half jokingly saying it at one of your corellian wine tasting parties or whatever is one thing...but these guys should/would be terrified of getting tarred and feathered out in public or having their career ruined because they are exposed as imperial apologists.

Just imagine for a moment if China or the DPRK had their leaders on mugs and t-shirts, selling tons of merch. Imagine how we would be presented with this as an example of how dystopian and awful they are.
