Those are all Rule 1 violations, which reads, "No bigotry - including racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, or xenophobia." (and includes a link up the code of conduct).

These babies are repeating infantilizing orientalist memes and are surprised when the rules are applied to them, lol. Some of them probably don't even realize it because they're so used to playing pretend about the see see pee and the oppressed Chinese people in their imaginations that they actually think they are stating facts.

    Deeply unserious people.

PS remember when lemmy.world preemptively defederated from hexbear (in the justification they say defend is "as a last resort" lol)?

raid on corporate landlords (we'll see if that goes anywhere)

child tax credit oh wait he took that away

            pulling out of afghanistan

basically all are from ~2 years ago

oh yeah and Amtrak is getting some much-needed investment, albeit not much

Pulling out of Afghanistan only happened because of Trump funnily enough; he set the date, which Biden pushed back a few times. Corporate landlords maybe getting hit by something would be good, and so is the Amtrak funding.

This admin really is so pathetic I can't come up with much else...he sent out covid stimulus checks, but they were much smaller than promised. He did forgive student loans for a fraction of the populace.

He uh...signed an EO making sure migrants aren't called 'aliens' any longer in government docs?

I’ve been banned from .ml for being a ‘racist’ for being anti-Xi, despite the fact that I am Chinese, and pointed out my ethnicity as such in the discussion. I guess antisemitic Jews aren’t the only weird accusation getting thrown about nowadays.

Lol, oh no. The poster immediately under this is going on some long winded rant that Japan should have been nuked harder, it was the only way to save more people

    and also

Lemmy.ml is a cancer on the Fediverse. If we want it to survive, we need to cut it off.

So funny how braindead liberals truly are in the age of the internet and 60+ years of historical analysis and declassified info we have now that wasn't available back then. What do you even call an ideology where you can determine that

Nuking civilians with atom bombs multiple times: Good

Banning me from a fringe forum because I'm ideologically opposed to you: Bad

You're right you're right, liberals I'm so fucking sorry. I don't know how in my warped little authoritarian mind I convinced myself that banning you specifically on the internet is morally superior to nuclear hellfire wiping out entire bloodlines. Please forgive me for the love of god

They can’t engage with any topics or offer counter arguments. Every response is:

The typical experience is that they receive a bunch of ppb but also some effort posters try to explain things to them genuinely then they only reply to the ppb saying that it proves we have no real response while ignoring all the real responses they got.

Holy shit the lack of self awareness.

LemmyWorld did this EXACT thing to absolutely everyone posting a view left of the US State Dept. It's what got Hexbear defederated, it's what got me banned despite the fact I broke NO rules besides supporting Lenin/USSR and posting about those things.

They are ridiculous. They do this exact thing to everyone to their left and then they can't fucking take it if anyone else does it to them. Even when in this case it's just literally cracking down on the mindless misinformation and bullshit libs peddle about this event.

When they unban lenins2ndcat so I can go back to the massive amount of effective posting I was doing on their instance then they can start whining about censorship elsewhere. They do it themselves if a communist is effective enough to get upvotes there. There were a dozen subreddits ready to migrate too and they killed that shit stonedead and put the brakes on the entire movement to swap from reddit to lemmy with their bullshit. Literally everyone saw what lemmyworld was doing and said nahhhh fuck that in the backrooms at the peak of everyone being motivated to move.

That may be a statistical fluke, since most of the active tanks on the planet are US manufactured, haven't seen maintenance since the first Bush admin, and were only built to function in the desert as long as the wind isn't blowing too hard.

This. With human carry able weapons that can vaporize a tank, tanks are basically just clunky mobile artillery.

            • PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmygrad.ml
              ·

That was always the case though, yet tanks were useful. I would say drones are much more impactful, just as the increasing cost and complexity of tanks made tanks much rarer and thus decreased the role of most important antitank weapon (other tank) too.

Tanks can do the same to other tanks and humans over much longer ranges and more precisely.

Ukrainian mercs were very sad to learn that their famous javelins were outranged by several magnitudes by russian tanks.

It is only in urban areas where your argument holds true.

People are naive if they think the .ml admins and devs don’t intend to keep their thumb on the Lemmy scale. More instances need to take this threat seriously and defederate from .ml, and possibly even fork the Lemmy repos for when the devs inevitably decide they want to start building quiet exploits into the code. There are serious cyber security implications here that people are sleeping on

    Honestly unhinged.

That’s the most frustrating part. These “leftists” are the stupid kind who seem to care more about relitigating idiotic cold war drama than evolving or pushing forward leftist philosophy. It’s straight up brain rot, mixed with obvious right wing agitprop disguised as leftist ideology.

What cold war drama? What right wing agitprop?

A hexbear in that thread is literally claiming that “the soldiers did everything they could to avoid hurting him” when there’s a photo of him lying dead on the street after the tanks have gone through. They don’t think it’s fine, they’re saying it didn’t happen (curious) [47]

Doesn't post the proof, unfortunately. Fortunately, a bunch of other people are correcting them.

The threat is bigger than that though. These people control the code base and can easily just start running modified code to fuck with various aspects of federation to generally keep their finger on the scale of any instance which federates with them. At best they have shown they have no shame and cannot be trusted. If there is any means of abusing their power, it must be assumed that they will embrace it.

Again literally no evidence that .ml has abused the federation algorithm or whatever.
