11/10 absolutely glad to hear a lot of these security measures are probably to protect the privacy/anonymity of trans patients who have shitty families, or are otherwise just anxious like you. I love to see it honestly. It always felt kinda weird going to my endo's office, when close to 99% of the signs up, and people there, are all for like orthopedics or whatever.
It was definitely for privacy and anonymity. The clinic is in a very conservative area in a very conservative Midwestern state. I live in a slightly less conservative Midwestern state but it's still not great. I could have tried to go somewhere locally, and I'm sure there is a GP that would prescribe hrt. But this clinic was rec'd by my therapist and I'm so glad I waited. First time I've been asked pronouns and she/her'd in person.

One of the best parts about my first HRT appointment is that like 3 different people I've never met before in my life called me a girl name
