It's an office job vs blue collar work thing. Officw jobs have an expectation you don't smell too strongly, so morning shower, deodorant, a small amount of perfume/cologne in the morning. Blue collar work doean't have that expectation and the work itself is more likely to make you sweat, so it makes sense to shower after work and before living the rest of your life.

      Office worker here.

If you shower at night your bed stays way cleaner because youre clean when you get in it and then you're still clean in the morning.

I really don't get why there's two sides to this unless you shower twice a day.

If you get clean, and then get in bed and sleep until the morning, you ought to still be pretty fucking clean in the morning, otherwise you need to wash your bedding more often.

This kind of makes office cycle commuters blue collar in this scenario. You can usually escape the sweat in the cooler hours of the morning, but that 16:00 asphalt hell 40°C shit on the way back hits hard

One office I worked at actually had an on-site shower because the C-suites liked biking to work, but only the C-suites were allowed to use it.

"I fucking love paying for parking spaces either indirectly or directly" is the kind of brain genius level thought that gets people to the C-Level

I bike to work everyday and I think I'm just lucky enough that my sweat doesn't stink. Or at least people don't tell me that it does over the course of 10 years at my job in different offices

Hate that everyone gets a street parking pass, worth probably hundreds of bucks a month, but a supposed bus pass for me is MIA

This makes sense. I think I still showered in the evening when I was a kid/at uni though, so a part of it is force of habit/what you're used to. I didn't swap over to morning showers when I worked a sedentary office job either. My workmates must have thought I was super stinky.

If you have as many roommates as I have you shower at the weirdest possible time to make sure no one else will be in the bathroom when you need it

If you live anywhere hot and humid, you kind of have to do both lol, though one can be a quick rinse. Sometimes even with dry heat you have to shower both in evening and morning if the heat is really bad. Going to bed sweaty or waking up and getting dressed while sweaty sucks.

Yeah this one’s me, I only wake up ~15 minutes before work starts and usually get sidetracked catching up on stuff. I’ll then take a shower some time during the day when there’s a lull, about to take one right now lol

Shower at night after getting filled with microbes on and off the way to work to keep the bed clean, and it relaxes me before going to bed.

Also showering in the morning is bourgeois because they get to avoid spending all day in some open space office and public transit swarming with sick people
