It's the smartest way to vote for president. You don't get to pick policies or anything else so why would you vote to look at an ugly mug in the news every day?
You've got Trudeau in Canada. Now Sir Kier in the UK (he looks sharp okay?), and previously Sunak. They're not directly elected but still. Many more examples.
Communist/left-leaning countries right now really need to step up their game tbh. At least left-wing parties actually have younger people in them so it mostly isn't just old people.
They tried the same with Leopoldo Lopez. The right has an easy time putting up hot people because being rich helps you be hot, but also because most conceptions of 'hotness' are based in western and white standards.
Evo Morales has a great face, but it's too indigenous for the west to fawn over (as they did for Lopez, for example, they were always going on about his looks and shirtlessness).
Also, right wing politics is so so so aesthetic, and the further right you get the more aesthetically based it gets.
I mean Latin America IS western and so yeah our standards tend to lean more towards whiteness. Countries like Bolivia are unique in that they still have a large enough indigenous population to turn the tide in votes

Are you saying we need to push Hasan to run for President?
Genuinely think his first name would be the biggest hurdle for him
Change his name to Henry ala Nikki Haley
"I'm Hank Piker and I'm reporting for duty."

I unironically find the typical looking communist person to be rather hot, but that's just me.
