Hot take: the only trans novel movie adaption we need is Chef's Choice. I'm tired of the trans horror and trans depressed-people-in-NYC genres. There's no way a studio run by cis people will ever do a good job with those movies anyway. So what we need is more cute trans romcoms. Especially ones where the main couple is st4t and every character is basically an absurd stereotype.
cant wait to see the maoist third worldist depicted on the big screen
I thought chef’s choice was kinda lacking to tbh. Like not quite ‘mid’ but not great either. That said it is the only published (as in not just uploaded to scribblehub) t4t romcom I can find
t4t is illegal in publishing bc there is no potential appeal to either A) cis readers or B) general romance audiences, I think. Terrible thing tbh, I can't find any either.
No I agree, all of the characters are basically silly stereotypes and the plot makes no sense. There's some cute moments, but honestly the ending felt like a let down. I just really loved that it's so like aggressively t4t and also straight. It's cool that it got mainstream publishing as well.
there are a number of cisn't books. But it can vary in quality/quantity and pairings.
We tend to check various blogs for published novels. This year has a surprising amount of non binary and transmasc releases which is refreshing but people have their preferences too. I won't read young adult typicaly but there are a steady stream this year also.
The fact that you're even aware enough of these to be tired of them
Looks cute ngl, I keep struggling to find the sapphic t4t myself, though I can think of one or two romances I'd like adapted tbh.
Have you read Sisters of Dorley? But yeah it's super hard to find anything for adults that's actually been published.
This is like the 12th time I have heard of it in this mega and I knew about it over a year ago lol. But no, I have not.
It sounds... weird? Kind of uncomfortable? Is it weird? Is it relentlessly horny, is it any good? Is it cool and trans affirming? As none biney do I stand to gain much from reading it?
also yeah tfw click on a cool sounding book, tags: YA
Ok so Sister's of Dorley is kind of like a parody of extremely horny and uncomfortable force feminization erotica. It takes the premise of all of that smut and sort of turns it into a real story. I don't think it's really uncomfortable because it's goofy and self aware the whole time. It is very trans affirming, most of the characters are trans and there are many different types of trans identity and discussions about transness (mostly on the transfem side of things tho). It's not really that horny, like there are sex scenes but they're not explicit and usually very cute. It's also very gay, basically everyone is gay.
Two things to know about it are that it is an absurdly long ongoing serialized internet story where nothing is ever resolved, and that there is some description of abuse, sexual assault, and violence.
I thought this was a novel what the fuck, I already have so many never finished serialised stories.
But otherwise I know what Dorley is, uh Idk honestly. It has been on my to-read in my Calibre library (when I assumed it was a novel because it is listed as a novel and has epub and physical releases) for like a year but I just, stare at it constantly. Wondering. I would murder in cold blood for a book to feature transfem enbies at all Idk.
Ok apparently it was Scribblehub: https://www.scribblehub.com/series/421879/the-sisters-of-dorley/
Scribhib =)
I think the serialized version has gotten turned into multiple books, so you probably have the first one. I read it on Wattpad or something.
Actually I think a lot of the characters are transfem enbies. There are a few who explicitly identify that way, but a bunch more who have sort of complicated genders that definitely read as nonbinary.
Okay fuck you I'm sold. I'm gonna vibe at some point. Locked in.
