Let's have another good week everyone
my sewing machine is broken. i've diagnosed the problem but i have no idea how to fix it. idk if it's even possible to fix by myself. but to see a sewing machine technician would be so much money.
idk what to do, i was on such a roll with learning how to pattern draft too. i had just drafted my first bodice block and was making a mock-up to fit it to myself. do i handsew all my garments until i work out a solution to this. ughhhhhhh
just of curiosity. do you say that because you called and asked for a ballpark quote? or are you assuming it'd be prohibitive?
i brought an old singer to get serviced once and surprised how little was charged. major portion of the cost was cab fare because it was very inconvenient to get to by other means from where I was living.
The place I looked had pricing starting at $149 per service, which I can't afford. Maybe this is on the more expensive side of things though... I'll look more into it.
yikes that is a lot! it is an extremely high base rate.
a lot of places that do this kind of work might not bother with a website so don't limit to web searching. here is a canada/usa list of signer repair locations https://www.singer.com/pages/singer-warranty-center-locator virtually all have phone numbers only. If you don't have a singer or are located elsewhere, try to find a similar list that's appropriate. Or try calling one of these, I bet they'll either be able to do the job or tell you who can. a fabric store might be able to recommend someone also.
