No clue how common it is. Had a friend when I was a child who like to use controllers for some personal enjoyment and would sometimes intentionally do things in-game to cause it to vibrate.
Recently, another cis male I know online mentioned a magic wand was his favorite sex toy.
But I generally don't talk about those kinds of things.

The Cabella's Dangerous Hunts games used to have infinite ammo cheats, and while a dualshock or 360 controller was common, I always heard the Wiimote was the weapon of choice :^)

This was GC era. No wiimotes. I think there was a way in Digimon World 4 to get it to just continuously vibrate, but I forget
