Toyosatomimi no Miko is a character in the Touhou Project series introduced in its 13th installment, Ten Desires.

Miko was once Prince Shoutoku, a Japanese leader in the 600s known for promoting Buddhism and streamlining the Japanese government. In the Touhou lore, she was visited by Taoist hermit Seiga Kaku, who had heard about Miko’s longing for immortality. Seiga introduced her to Taoism, but she rejected it as a religion unfit for placating an entire country. She was intrigued by its promise of immortality, however, and privately converted to it, advocating for Buddhism to keep Japan stable. After drinking an “immortality elixir” (mercury sulfide), however, she was forced to let go of her body and become a supernatural hermit like Seiga, notably taking on the form of a woman, making her a canonically trans character (lets-fucking-go).

After convincing a hermit from a rival clan (Mononobe no Futo) to sleep without decaying, Miko followed in suit, waiting for a time where a Taoist Japan would revive her in search of guidance. However, Buddhist monks were able to keep her mausoleum sealed, and the legends surrounding her were slowly brushed off- which led to her transportation into Gensokyo, where the folklore of old is a reality of everyday life.

When she awoke in Gensokyo, it was right after Buddhist monk Byakuren Hijiri opened her own temple, however, leading to a surge of divine spirits across the realm, setting up the events of Ten Desires.

What look like headphones on her are canonically earmuffs- Shoutoku was allegedly able to discern between ten questions asked at once, an ability carried by Miko (although with her enhanced abilities, she can also analyze each person and determine their inner desires (thus the title of the game))- although it means her hearing is highly sensitive and has to be muffled to prevent pain.

            ^^

norwegian Norwegian is very similar to swedish in its grammar and structure ^^ Norwegian word of the post: søt (adjective, means cute/söpö) sinä olet söpö : du er søt

Nice thing with norwegian is that (regular) verbs inflect the same regardless of person, (e.g. jeg er, du er, han/hun/hen er, de er, dere er, vi er) so its very easy to learn verbs lea-finger-guns It does have grammatical gender for nouns tho, and adjectives have to agree with the nouns gender and definitiveness.

also how did the cafe date go?

It went great! There was fewer people than I expected, and it was quiet, and we just sat and talked for like 2 hours, had a good time catching up cause we hadnt talked in like 2 weeks ^^ plus hes leaving soon so its nice to get some time together

and finally do you want to hear about my day?

Yes please sweetie!! aubrey-happy I would love to hear about your day, and everything youve been up to in the wifi-enabled grasstouching sweden meow-bounce

              norwegian

fascinating! also it always makes me smile how so many of these words are in different dialects in finnish, like søt, there's a finnish word söötti, which is basically another way to say cute niko-happy

              2 hours

so! went with dad to look at the sea, it was way too warm (i'll post the pics when i get on the pc again), talked with him a bit about my anxiety and how it fucking sucks, almost started crying and saying that i wish i could just be normal, but managed not to. he cares a lot thoughniko-happy

went back to the house and auntie gave me that recipe book to leaf through. spent some time on that and then she roped me into food prep and cooking. it was really nice lea-smile. afterwards i got white girl drunk on red wine while we ate. feeling really nice and loved today lea-blush

                norwegian

Norway has so many dialects its unreal lol. There isnt even a standardized spoken language, theres just a bunch of dialects.

                finnish

What does the two vowels next to each other mean in finnish? Is it like a longer or more stressed vowel?

                your day

I would love to see the photos of the sea aubrey-happy

wish i could just be normal

This is so very relatable, lea-breakdown ive had similar convos with my folks. Im really glad he cares so much! niko-happy

                recipe book

Ooh i love it! One of my favorite things is finding old recipes or old cookbooks, they are always so fun ^^

roped me into food prep and cooking.

What did you all make? lea-happy

                white girl drunk

anya-heh i always do this where I have a couple glasses of wine, feel nothing, and then all of a sudden im drunk lea-finger-guns

feeling really nice and loved today

Im so happyyyyy aubrey-happy it sounds like you have a really kind and supportive family, even if they dont quite "get it" sometimes. And, what can I say, lovely people like yourself are often well loved kris-love

                  ^^

                  dialects

oh god it's even worse than finland emilie-come-on

                  söötti

yeah it's longer, rule of thumb there are no silent letters in finnish, the words are said literally just like how they're written, following finnish pronounciations obviously, and that is hard for most people lea-wasnt-me

                  food

we roasted some vegetables in the oven and I made another pizza for myself, because auntie's experience with veganism is that cheese, fish and eggs are fine. smdh. anyway they grilled some meat and we air fried some sliced potatoes, topped with vegan aioli pingu-horny it was excellent.

                  drunk

i bet you're a really cute drunk shy

                  really kind and supportive family

yeah lea-happy really lucked out in the trans bingo tbh, parents took a real leftward turn when i came out and mom's side of the family have seemingly been soc dems at worst so it's pretty great, honestly lea-blush

lovely people like yourself are often well loved

                  oh shtaph aubrey-embarassed

pls dont actually i love it undyne-owo

                    ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ

dialects Its... Pretty amazing tbh. Theres a piece on NRK from a while back about two people with very thick dialects from different parts of the country talking to each other, and they cant understand each other. I love it, but it can be difficult. It can also be fun with sentences that are only tiny monosyllabic words (e.g. " d e d d e å d e d d va" or like "æ e i a æ å æ")

                    finnish

Ok that does sound rough. I bet I could do the pronounciation but learning how to break up words into syllables can be real difficult.

                    drunk

Idk, i either get way more anxious or way less anxious. But if its just me and one other person i tend to get more cuddly shy

                    family

Its so nice to hear people taking left turns aubrey-happy There have definitely been some people in my family where I was worried id have to get all aubrey-bat with them. But at worst theyre well meaning libs (aside from the hardcore reactionaries and fash we no longer talk to).

                    oh shtaph

                    anya-heh make me, söpöliini
