Somehow it led to me stating that it wasn’t hard to picture myself being homeless because I was living paycheck to paycheck and I was only one missed check away from eviction.

I got told that I had no grounds to advocate for the unhoused because I had never “actually been homeless”

Then I got banned shortly thereafter.

I still think about that sometimes. Cuz the logic confuses the fuck out of me. Anyway, bash the fash!

"You're a socialist because you're poor and want other people's money."

"You're a socialist because you're rich and out of touch with how poor people live."

Can't win, so don't play. In the end it's just contempt for anyone not making a sufficient amount of money.

I can explain where the hatred comes from.

I have a deadly fear of needles and despise trash. When I started to see both of those in local parks, my fear and disgust began to turn into hatred. The city subreddit I was in and the local media did everything that they could to push that hatred towards homeless people, giving all sorts of bullshit arguments and leading me down a reactionary path. At that point, when I thought the word "homeless" in my head, I pictured this and this. I stopped seeing the person. When I moved to a new city, I stopped following the old subreddit, and thus cut off the propaganda. Additionally, the city I moved to is much cleaner. With the propaganda gone and the city being cleaner, I began to move left and ended up here. I'm going to make a post about where reactionary politics come from in a bit.

Mitch_From_Boston is probably one of the most consistently stupid posters on all of reddit.

There's a bougie town near me and their subreddit is the worst. I remember one user posted that he calls the cops on homeless people and he got a whack of upvotes. How big of a piece of shit do you have to be to call the cops on people for being homeless.

imagine if calling the cops on homeless people meant they got houses

you go to a subreddit if it has to do with your interests, but where do you go if your interest is local property values? city subreddits

I usually follow their arguments until the inherent inconsistency becomes apparent, but then they pull out some weird shit like what I stated above and I’m left in a rage. It’s literally why I think gulags might have to actually be a thing..

My city fucking sucks and the subreddit is somehow worse. I stopped using reddit back when the sub got banned but I still keep tabs on the city sub just to see if anything is going on locally and this week they've been losing their shit, all giddy that we're getting a trader joes.

Anyways I got banned a while back for "doxxing" for telling some chud I knew where he lived and that I was gonna come to his house and suck his dick.

I remember one time I had this big belly full of food on thanksgiving and then I thought to myself "hey wait, its pretty tragic that people go to bed hungry on the night of this giant food holiday" but then I remembered that as a satiated individual I had no right to advocate for the hungry.

I’m slowposted for negative karma on my hometowns sub for arguing that black lives matter is justified for blocking highways. Regional/city subreddits are hotbeds of reaction

I got banned from my city sub once for telling someone who was arguing that we needed to close all public restrooms because of covid that it would be great if the people that needed them (unhoused people, people with conditions like IBS, gig workers, etc) took dumps on their doorstep instead
