Everyone's got the shits or has some version of a respiratory infection. I definitely don't publicly show glee. But damn, stop eating murdered animals and put on a mask.
Didn't know which comm to put this in.
Since getting COVID a year and a half ago I have the shits literally every day. It’s so annoying. I’ve figured out that it made me lactose intolerant but that’s definitely not the only thing wrong and I’m not sure what the other issues are.
I’ve had maybe 1/4th the number of respiratory infections I would get before I started masking though. It’s great.
My bro is having stomach issues to the point of only being able to eat broth and plain oatmeal. I went digging around and sure enough, there's decent studies that show about 10% of people develop new stomach issues in the 6 months post COVID, both IBS and other "disorders of the gut brain interaction" or DGBIs.
Got laughed at like a paranoiac when I brought it up though lol.
Both times I had COVID I had GERD-like symptoms for months afterwards. Thankfully, they eventually go away for me but it sucks to be sick for 4 months.
Yeah, I haven't caught anything since I started masking fulltime. Which is good because the number of things that are falling apart on me, since getting Covid some months before that, are adding up. Age or Long Covid, who knows, but I don't need another infection.
When I was vegetarian, I had lactose intolerance read bad. I'm pretty sure that it just gets much worse when you're older, especially if you're non white.
I learned how to make seitan in a bread machine today.
Mind sharing? I've been thinking about getting a bread machine anyway.

This one sans seasoning because I used it for curry.
Yoy may need to adjust amounts of wheat gluten for your machine size. It you find it too tough ,another guy on the internet had good results with the cake setting. I have not tried that yet.
Making it it myself saves me about 3 to 4 dollars a pound.
Yeah everyone is getting sick right now it’s actually wild. I had a persistent head cold all last week, 2 people I know have the exact same thing this week, and somebody else just got diagnosed with pneumonia.
I might just be talking out my ass but it seems worse than most years.
The social pressure at work got to me. I don't have it in me to fight everyone about it.
I don’t either but I don’t have a choice because if I unmask I die, so. idk dog I think you ought to just do it. the more people mask the safer people like me are. does that mean nothing to you?
Is the social pressure a greater cost than years off your life, damage to all your organs including your brain, and permanently reducing your immune system's capacity to fight future infections?
It is less accute than the harms of capitlaism so I gotta weigh the risks of fucking up my work situation.
Covid is a plague of the working class. We were forced back to the office, gaslit, pressured to put our lives and our health at risk for the sake if the stock market.
Okay but I forgot to order pea protein and so I didn't have enough to make the yummy protein shakes that help me recover from work and sleep, and it's been a real bummer.
