Bro the claymation animation is the only reason people even remember Gumby. What is even the point.
I remember watching a Gumby episode in Native American Studies. Gumby was a propenent of Manifest Destiny.
It was a one-off episode with gumby as a cowboy, but it had some
moments.
Pingu had a Japanese made reboot in the late 2010s - they at least did it 3d animation in a way that looked like the claymation
I watch a lot of pingu (because my nephew likes it) and the reboot is really bad IMO at least in terms or imitating the original. The models look greasy as hell and the music (best part of pingu) is of a different style.
Didn't care for the Cuphead show, so I'm gonna give this one a hard pass

to be fair adults are the only people who know what gumby is and might care about the cartoon, making it targeted at them might be the way to go.
but if they were gonna go that route the way to do it would be to make it claymated and get some former adult swim writers behind it.
Along the way, Gumby will learn the power of friendship with health insurance CEO's, and they will all live happily (in-network, coverage-permitting (it isn't permitting)) ever after.
