PM of Senegal responded (translated):

He finally declares that "no African country would be sovereign today if France had not deployed." Let us note that France has neither the capacity nor the legitimacy to ensure Africa's security and sovereignty.

On the contrary, it has often contributed to destabilizing certain African countries such as Libya, with disastrous consequences noted for the stability and security of the Sahel.

This is finally the place to remind President Macron that if African soldiers, sometimes forcibly mobilized, mistreated and ultimately betrayed, had not deployed during the Second World War to defend France, it would, perhaps still be German today.

The complete inability of Westerners to conduct even basic ass diplomacy at a time when the world order is shifting so quickly gives me so much schadenfreude

Negging sure didn't work to pick up chicks at the bar but I'm sure it will work to conduct international diplomacy

School bully takes your lunch money, your shoes, and your pencil then spits in your face. Then says “You’re welcome.”

Cool, so does that mean Europeans owe communism their loyalty because Stalin quite literally saved those barbarians from themselves?

Fun fact and partially in response to queermunist here, due to the Mongolian invasions (which only ended in 1480) much of Eastern Europe was underdeveloped in infrastructure and many other areas compared to Western Europe until the communists came in to ramp development way the hell up.

That's right, Western Europe got to have their adventures on the 15th century equivalent of the Lolita Express in 1492 while Eastern Europe had to clean up after actually doing the hard work for the last few centuries, a process which may still be underway but attained the most progress under the Soviet Union.

Is there anywhere else in the world that may have been having to do the hard work at that time while Western Europe got to luxuriate in privilege? 🤔

Most of the workers of the western capitalist hegemony owe the soviets a great deal.

The specter of communism gained us massive concessions from the piggies as a bulwark against wholesale global revolution.

It's impressive how much French are able to get away with in terms of chauvinism, jingoism, imperialism and neo-colonialism not to mention implicit or explicit racism. They managed to craft, I believe by design, an image that appeals across a broad political spectrum by sustaining the view that France is a prestigious and romantic country that ironically is amplified and projected even further by Anglosphere and has purchase even in many leftist circles who idealize France and French.

A lot of countries have good PR; Japan, Canada, Belgium, Sweden, The UK and Germany (to an lesser extend), Spain and Italy all get wooblified and turned into harmless sucdem tourist paradises.

Highly recommend reading How Europe Underdeveloped Africa. The idea that Africa benefited from European colonialism is an ahistorical lie based on racism.

          Apology accepted, comrade.

I'm honestly curious as this is my second time looking at this message. I remember posting it and going "I wonder if people are still going to recognize Jeopardy!, it might go over people's heads." I'm trying to squint my eyes and I can't do it. What makes the post look like Nazi propaganda? Is it as if I'm saying "America and Europe have been helping Africa since their inception."?

Weird... wonder why so many of these countries had to struggle for liberation from France and other European countries. Its almost as if for a long time Europeans had, IDK, colonized (???) and stolen sovereignty from the peoples of Africa. And then even after they liberated themselves from their imperialist rulers, those very same imperialist rulers used their power to maintain their exploitative relationship with the nations of Africa through multinational corporations and meddling in affairs for several more years.
