as always, some people legitimately can't be vegan at this point in their lives and trying to gatekeep the already-tiny left on veganism is counterproductive

I can't add any restrictive rules to my diet or I will literally stop eating.

I know some people who were vegan for awhile but had to start eating meat again due to health concerns.

If this isn't a physical thing then I understand. I used to use "veganism" to restrict my caloric intake… and micromanage food because nutrients. It sucks, stay strong.

Anorexia is a very relevant health concern. I support everyone who can recover and stick to their plant-based/vegan/vegetarian diet but I also know what crying over eating a small bowl of rice feels like. I'm not shaming anorexics in recovery for eating and you shouldn't either. Unless you want us dead in which case, whatever, one less comrade oh wait-

If you care about EDs sufferers staying vegan and/or vegetarian you should care for harm reduction and advocate for body autonomy during inpatient treatment.

this makes about as much sense as disabled people claiming they need slaves to help them with their life. but i get it, you need excuses and judging by the votes, 90% of this place is anorexic

You're so honest. Good for you. You could have compared it to an addict buying cocaine (Edit: not really, you can die if you don't eat... deadliest mentol illness luv) when the entire production is full of human exploitation… but who cares, right? "Disabled people and slaves" lmao.

90% of this place is anorexic

                Lmao, what a pos

"Comrades" will be like "I think you're too small of a number to care even when you bring it up to my attention, I know how your ED works… try eating [food that isn't a safe food] and [do a thing that is one of your ED rituals]. Did you know your ED is no bueno? And dumb? No, I won't help vegans with EDs"

I don't recall the sub having absolutely stupid struggle sessions on veganism, and don't think we need them on the site. And yes, you're absolutely correct, if your definition of leftism excludes those who can't afford to make the difficult transition to a vegan diet (which has its own problems even if you ignore the cost); well yes, I'm not going to be a comrade of yours, and neither will a good chunk of the Earth.

The left would unironically be better off without lifestylists.

Definitely love to get shamed as a first-worlder while belonging to the lower class. Truly makes you reflect on the state of the left in general when some people attach so much importance to shaming others for habits whose consequences have to be changed via systemic changes rather than by individual actions. The best radical veganism has accomplished is creating another "woke" section of products to be bought by confortable liberals, while actively shaming most of the population that would otherwise identify with left-wing struggles.

inb4 “being vegan is too expensive you elitist” like rice and beans aren’t the most proletarian food in the world (and animal corpse food is only “cheap” because of subsidies and horrific industrial farming - without even taking into account the ethical cost, y’know, ending millions of lives).

    • gay [any]

Ok but you can't just ignore the subsidies part like that lmao.

No, I'm not getting involved in this struggle session.
