I mean I expected him to avoid talking about how he's never going to deliver on that promise, but I didn't expect it to disappear this conspicuously. I think hating on BLM and doing performative Blue Lives shit has replaced it as the symbolic representation of white supremacy in his campaign.

Notice the sudden departure from "immigrants bad" talk as well

Fascistic thinking is preoccupied with aesthetics, after all

Trump got 29% in 2016, Romney got 27% in 2012, McCain got 31% in 2008, and Bush got 40% in 2004. It doesn't really look like the GOP is doing better with Latino voters.

Yeah, I think the GOP's strength is in keeping the rich/old/White/male turn out high by preaching racism/classism, and depressing everyone else's through active disenfranchisement, limited voting locations/long lines, and corporate media shitting on the idea of real change. Also the FTFP/rural states, keeping out DC/Puerto Rico, and gerrymandering. And this year it'll be through however they ratfuck voting by mail.

How much of them are just Gusanos being Gusanos, though?

And the thing is, the Democrats could have prevented the GOP from peeling away Latino votes, if they actually had, you know, shown that they actually cared about Latinos. But everything the Dems have done over the last 10+ years has shown they don't give one flying fuck about any demographic other than relatively well-off suburban white voters.

I've been watching his rallies and he's telling everyone "The wall is nearly complete". He actually did Chapo suggested course of action and just took some pictures next to a section of wall and told everyone it was built.

"The wall, it's so big, so beautiful, we've done a great job! They don't like to talk about the wall, did you notice that? The lamestream media, CNN, the Clinton news network ; MSDNC, which is owned by Concast, I call them Con-cast, and all the liars- they're really sick people. They don't like to talk about how well we're doing with the wall."

It hasn't disappeared. He's actively campaigning on the wall as a success. I think it was the last debate I heard him claim something like 400 miles of wall have been built.

I expect that's a wild rounding up but honestly I didn't care enough to check how much he actually built.

They knew it was stupid at the time but they just didn't think they could get away with open racism. Now they see they can get away with it.

Bannon being small time grifter rather than being UberFascist Mastermind really surprised me. Then again, capitalism attracts people just as much as 'brown people bad' mentality.

They were talking about this with Chuck Rocha (Bernie’s Latino outreach director) on the new episode of Why is this Happening? with Chris Hayes.

    I miss "repeal and replace."

Wanted to shout that at the grocery store when I see somebody take bunch of bananas off of the display.
