So I used to think free speech discourse was fucking dumb and usually cover for nazi's, and then I read the history of free speech activism and facebook started censoring anarchist pages.

We need to weaponize the term just like right wingers do, our platform depends on it

I think we either need a totally different term or a way to reclaim the phrase that explicitly and undeniably shuts out fash.

We can just deploy it opportunistically. Whine about our free speech when facebook censors us and then celebrate the eradication of hate when facebook does it to fash.

If you're looking for philosophical justifications, you can argue that the presence of right wingers silences gay people and so isn't free speech but a form of censorship.

Even without the Hitler quotes, what a fucking weird powerpoint that is. Just a bunch of incoherent Facebook Warrior drivel written by someone that seems barely capable of writing a sentence??? Reads like a middle school assignment on superheroes or something

You know a pig earning over a 100k a year before the police's insanely high overtime benefits made this on his lunch break on a Windows XP machine while chugging a donut and mtn dew

like, i know why they act like this. i know that they're the guard dogs of domestic capital. but, reading them gleefully wishing to kill people is breathtaking. a group of people desperate to gun you down in the streets to prove their "manliness"? god.

I've never seen a more cringe powerpoint.

Beyond the fucking nazi and Hitler quotes it's pretty incredible how they explicitly say it's bad to be smart and tactful.

Don't they prevent you from becoming a cop in the USA if you are too smart? I vaguely remember a job discrimination case about this.

So they really want to try weed out any potential resistance and get the "I'm just following orders boss" shit, this is really dangerous. Allows the force to go from cops to full SS real quick, and that's oviously intentional

There's either an intelligence test or a job aptitude test with a general knowledge portion, and if you score too well you're disqualified from employment.

love that between the hitler quotes they stuck in a few reminders for +40% of the audience that you should try to love your family and not beat them like the "warrior" you definitely are.

Two other slides quoting Hitler bring his total to three, making him the most quoted person in the presentation.

KSP spokesperson Lieutenant Joshua Lawson wrote, “The quotes are used for their content and relevance to the topic addressed in the presentation. The presentation touches on several aspects of service, selflessness, and moral guidance. All of these topics go to the fundamentals of law enforcement such as treating everyone equally, service to the public, and being guided by the law.”

I guess there aren't a lot of sources for quotes on police work other than Hitler?

Wait, they didn't just deny that this is authentic??? They are actually acknowledging it as the real article and are saying "well yes, we do quote Hitler and encourage our cops to cap everyone, BUUUUUTTT you're taking it out of context"?

Hey, these Hitler quotes aren't about police work, they're about the fascist core values of being a xenophobic bigot and trusting blind faith over intellect. How would that relate to police work in any... oh shit oh fuck :surprised-pika:
