South Korea is the real dystopia.
Actually, in the DPRK, everyone is required to get plastic surgery to look exactly like Kim Jong-Un.
Consqeuently, it's the most beautiful nation on earth.
Imagine having hair as amazing as this :kim: I marvel at the flatness of the top every time, i wonder if he uses it as a shelf when nobody is looking.
Kim was a basically Korean trump
Down to the dumb haircut, chubby physic and icing the others out of dads inheritance
Can be applied to Boris Johnson too
Do these guys all have the same tailor and hairdresser?
Plastic surgery is just modern day footbinding and skull shaping.
I wouldn’t be that absolutist about it. Plastic surgery can be really helpful to people who have physical deformities or have suffered traumatic injuries, people who have successfully lost a lot of weight, and of course trans people.
People using plastic surgeons as a means to achieve some ideal western form is mostly a byproduct of neoliberalism.
Right, it's mostly the commodification and hypercompetive system in which it has become a standard practise, that makes it toxic.
I mean it is fucked up, but at least recipients can walk normally.
I don't know man. I got a nose job and it hurts like hell whenever I walk using my face
*work normally. Yes, we're past the era of pampered housewives. Now they must toil like the rest.
Plastic surgeons really do seem to be striving for one particular idea of the ideal woman's face, at least from what I see on TV done to various Real Housewives across this nation.
How can even brainwashed libs uphold South Korea as a bastion of freedom?
I mean, the fact that they just got rid of the last of a line of dictators and installed a social democrat tells me they're doing comparatively well democracy wise.
I just wish them well going forward. Maybe have some genuine progression towards true (economic) democracy and a healthy civil society without being couped and regressed by reactionaries and CIA again.
He's still US friendly, he just supports labor rights and friendly relations with the dprk
Imagine if the government paid (they wouldnt make the people pay) for (optional) plastic surgery in DPRK in order to meet a socially agreed upon standard for beauty. The media would be outraged!

That's actually a relly common present in Iran as well. Many many girls get their nose done. Some even wear the bandage longer than necessary because nose jobs have become a status symbol. Worst part is, it's always the same nose... and it looks like Micheal Jackson did at one time. The islamic laws haben't changed anything about the obsession with looks. It's just that the focus is soley on the face outside of homes. Therefore, they throw even more money into makeup etc.
