Around this time last November, a handful of people in Wuhan started falling ill from a mysterious pneumonia.

Yeah, and I remember when the lockdowns began in Wuhan, with the surreal scenes of trucks spraying the streets, and no one in US/Europe took it seriously.

Yeah the US learned their lesson tho. Remember back when Illinois hit 10k cases in a day and states like North Dakota were at 100% hospital capacity and no one cared

          Oh wait that was today.

End of the month is the one year anniversary of when I bought my bigass spaceman respirator with 2 years worth of replacent filters. I was paying attention when daddy Seder said this was gonna be serious. :(

So great that 70% of one party doesn’t trust the results of an election. I haven’t trust them since 00 then again in 04 when the ceo of diabolt electronic voting machines was on Ws campaign staff. Welcome to the club trumpers.

The only shitty part is that it won’t end with any proof of fraud except for them disenfranchising voters and setting up fake mailboxes.

Super crazy shit went on in 2004, like machines set to start counting backwards when one candidate reached a certain total. No one gave a fuck except Air America and specifically Randi Rhodes was all over it.

Oh that’s where I know about all this. I used to listen to her all the time. She became pretty lib once Obama got in office. No one has better rants than Mike Milloy though. He would just tear into W and his family for two hours straight every night.

If memory serves, she would do entire like 4-hour or whatever shows just reading off anomalous polling data. Would be great to dig up some of that audio. I remember completely insane stuff, like Ohio towns with 20k reg voters and 25k votes for Bush. black box voting dot com

The ballot is secret but the voter info is public so companies can buy the lists and send you ads

So it's just the registry, not the voting records? That said for some insane reason you have party affiliation on those don't you? Is there any difference to being registered Democrat and being a member of the party in the same way elsewhere you'd be a fee-paying member of Labour, or the Greens, or Die Linke?

There's no such thing. "Registered Democrat" is pretty much being a member of the party. The money comes from corporate and [m/b]illionaire donors.

Why are the Dems so useless again? Who (or what?) is exactly is running the country again? Capital. of course.

There’s many different techniques depending on where you live. They’re great at in LA because a lot of rich people leave their homes abandoned, but still have internet water electricity and all that. An article in here mentioned a place where they took over the whole apartment complex.

If you can prove you’ve been living in a dwelling for a certain amount of time with a piece of mail that was delivered to the address then you can stay there for quite a long time depending on the area. I’ve never done it, but it’s becoming a larger practice and we should encourage people to use these fucked up laws to their advantage.

Let every dirty, lousy tramp arm himself with a revolver or a knife, and lay in wait on the steps of the palaces of the rich and stab or shoot the owners as they come out. Let us kill them without mercy, and let it be a war of extermination.

How am I just now finding out that Tara Reade released a book like two weeks ago? Apparently she couldn't find a print publisher who would work with her so it's out on Kindle only.

Ayy fuck capitalism, comrades. I hate advertising so much. Inserting their shitty product into intimate human experiences, trying to create associations between the two. Appropriating culture for their profit. Fucking give it back.

And advertising is such a waste of resources. How much money has been spent on the cola wars? How much creativity and engineering go into making french fries fly perfectly through the air for commercials? How much attention and focus does it suck away from everyone on a daily basis?

I hate advertising so much. It's not the only reason I want capitalism to die, but it's definitely a consideration.

Was outside this morning (somewhat rarer occurrence during lockdown) and realized I couldn’t escape ads all surrounding me. They were everywhere. The only way to escape would have been to close my eyes. It’s cancer on my retina.

Damn I wish this site was more like forums and less like a reddit clone. I mean, I get why l but maybe it's just my 30yo self waxing nostalgic for early/mid 2000s internet when everything seemed new before modern social media robbed my serotonin.

Definitely. Something about this format that, even though there's a username attached, still allows an aspect of anonymity. It doesn't really feel like a community yet. Even if I recognize the username it's just kind of the same feeling I got from reddit. This place is a dozen times more welcoming and the conversation is nowhere near the level of shit that reddit is but yeah, you're right, I really associate the avatars with an actual person as weird as that may sound.

Even when replying to posts like this and us engaging in a discussion still feels kind of disassociated. Back when I first started using reddit I never liked the format but I just ended up adjusting to it. Shit, I'd keep talking but gotta get ready for work. Have a good day, comrade.
