My own hot take on the Megan situation is that I like it because it's the simplest thing to point to whenever other Europeans try to claim racism isn't a thing in Europe. That at mooost we have understandable xenophobia towards new people. She's a rich, beautiful woman from an English speaking country, and people and the press still couldn't stop smearing her.

While yes, I agree that we were lied to by our government with Iraq and intervention turned out to be a complete humanitarian disaster, I'm completely sure that we are right here and we must intervene in (insert country here) to stop (insert made up human rights abuses here.)
I remember during the Iraq War, yes we invaded under false pretenses, but it's totally justified because Saddam was a bad guy and needed to be stopped.
