The snakes at the BBC (and some US outlets) are trying their hardest to tie this to the Hariri trial and all but saying this is a bombing by Hezbollah. They were "reporting" this as soon as the explosions occured and when they has less than no evidence.
Nevermind the fact that Israel has made outright military threats against Lebanon in the last couple of weeks.... Gotta be Hezbollah, right?
Sentiment on the ground in Lebanon seems to be that it was an Israeli missile, but they didn’t intend to hit a depot of ammonia nitrate.

Under every Twitter thread about this there are dozens of morons saying 1) mushroom cloud = nuclear and 2) it definitely a bombing because fireworks wouldn't make such a big boom

Was a guy saying that a mushroom cloud means that it was a nuclear explosion. The idea that a nuclear country (or any other nuclear entity) would use their bomb in Beirut of all places out of nowhere is ridiculous.
Also mushroom clouds form from plenty of large explosions (nuclear or not) cause the blast creates a huge vacuum which then implodes and sends the air rushing upward from the center.

Ammonium Nitrate. Commonly used in explosives and fertiliser. This is nowhere near the first time such a thing has happened. Texas and China have both suffered large Ammonium Nitrate blasts.

There was a fireworks warehouse in the centre of the explosion and you can see the fireworks going off before the big boom. Might be other stuff in there, but it involved fireworks.

If you remember that explosion in Tianjin China a few years ago (2015), that was the result of 800 tons of ammonium nitrate igniting.
Reports coming out say this was the result of 2,750 tons ammonium nitrate igniting.
I know there are still a ton of unknowns, but keep in mind this kind of thing is a sad feasibility anywhere in the world with rampant regulatory capture and neoliberal ideals.
