The fact that they feel they have to put the statue on a 10 feet plinth to avoid people trying to tear it down, shows that they know people don't fucking want this statue.

I know of at least 3 different groups who all independently want to be the ones that tear this thing down.

There are probably many more that I do not know of.

There is no way in hell that this thing is staying up once they unveil it.

In normal conditions? 1-2 weeks, although there would be a few trying to have it down on day 1-3. In covid? Really depends on lockdowns and tiers, particularly of people meeting up to do it. I don't give it more than 2-3 months though. She'll take paint in the first week at the very least.

when you get a chain around the neck the height will just provide more leverage for pulling it down

"this ten foot plinth will protect our genocidal idol!" -brits

imagine not knowing about ladders or long chains.

now, im not saying some comrade should pull that down and cut thatchers fucking head off, but...

:gui-trans:lets cut thatchers fucking head off:gui-trans:

edit: i would also accept literal defacing. removal of the face

ALSO PLEASE DO NOT PULL DOWN WASHINGTON MONUMENT

going by this person's reckoning of 40 people per 10 feet of height, it should be possible to topple the washington monument with 2200 people. Give it a 20% margin for safety, and really 2640 people showing up to a protest in DC is not an unrealistic figure.

If you need to protect a statue with a 10f plinth then chances are that person is hated enough that they shouldn't have a statue in the first place.

It's good that city councils are building more public toilets tho?

I'm not really seeing the issue here.

Putting it on a ten foot plinth is ableist, that's the issue. Everyone should be able to utilize the Thatcher-shaped urinal

        Oh shit you're right.

Somebody needs to go yell at them until they install an access ramp.

Like who the fuck wants this statue? Apart from some inbred double-barrel named nonce freaks?

They're just mocking us at this point.

Looking forward to all the videos of ridiculously drunken brits just shidding and pissing all over this abomination.

At least something good will come from this.

It seems like a lot of work to get an RPG into the UK just to use it on a statue... a heavy SUV and some chain should be more than enough. Save the RPG for when you really need it.

Hot tip from a friend, paint in thin plastic grocery bags. Easy to throw and bursts better than water balloons.
