if you're the average american who spanks it to the nearest big boobed babe who claims to be a step mother, this isnt an issue, but what about all the rest of us normal people without sexual pathologies? hurray, now your porn is all made to be 100% profitable. what is that, passion projects by queer people? im sorry that doesnt make me richer.

(yes i know there are more important issues with revenge porn and everything, just trying to make a struggle session about this side of the issue)

But this isn't true, amateur content is still allowed along as the account is verified. The ban is on unverified accounts uploading videos. Though you're right porn companies are absolutely terrible

You can post CP on Chapo dot Chat! should this place have a verification policy?

What PH needs is a larger moderation team, not verification

Difference is no porn at all is allowed on chapo.chat and this website has about a thousand times less users than PornHub. Also verification is relatively easy on PornHub, you just need to post a photo of your face (that only the verification team sees) while holding up a piece of paper with your username and PornHub written on it. And that's all that's required to upload content to that website. Almost all amateur creators have done this anyway, as it's required if they want to earn money from their videos.

This place outright closed registration to deal with spambots.

If we get hit with CP waves, we’re making image posting approval-only too. Maybe accs older than a month, or with 100 positive karma.

I wasn't even the one who called you a fredo in the first place in that thread, that was once, not "every time we meet" and I didn't even realize who you are before you said that because I don't read usernames.

And seriously, porn and porn addiction is not good. And if you feel so bothered by this because you are worried you may not get enough porn you like that it outweighs the benefits of reducing revenge porn and cp, it's not healthy.

i am not addicted to porn or masturbation. i made it clear in a thread below. my complaint was about queer creators and audiences not having a spot anymore as they used to.

You're the one who remembered who I am in the first place and acted like that's some kind of personal feud, and you are the one living in my head rent free??? OK.

Yu're literally talking about porn, what "spot", you're just talking about people having more optimal fap material, this isn't some kind of big censorship thing, this is just a change of policy in a garbage website that probably shouldn't exist in the first place. So yeah, I really don't care, as long as revenge porn and cp take a hit because these are actual issues. It doesn't even do what you think it does, you can still be an amateur and upload videos.

i feel like theres been a misunderstanding. they didnt delete all nonprofessional content, just unverified. as long as you are willing to take like a picture of your face (that only they see) you can stay. its definitely not centralizing it to corporations, most amateurs are verified. its basically getting rid of a shitload of reuploads im pretty sure which were done likely without the creators consent if they wouldnt even bother to verify. like youd have a valid point except thats not what happened

That's not true though. Amateur porn is still allowed on PornHub, you just need to verify the account, which almost all amateur creators on PornHub do anyway. The ban was on non verified accounts uploading videos to the website.

I don't think the ban was on accounts, Hunter Biden's account is still up lol. If a unverified account uploaded any videos, well those are gone, but the account stays without any videos on it.

It's actually extremely easy to get verified, all you have to do is post a picture of yourself with your face visible holding up a piece of paper with your username and PornHub on it. So most amateur creators have done this anyway a long time ago.

        Proof

It's just like the SESTA/FOSTA shit: creating a more restrictive internet that is actively hostile to sex workers and puts more control in the hands of fewer corporations, heralded as great progress even by leftists because it's about "protecting children"

Yeah pretty much, it's not as big as a deal as everyone is making it out to be. The GirlsDoPorn thing that was pretty much blackmail and lies, in rape territory, was a verified account.

    • PermaculturalMarxist [they/them]

yeah but then the account is directly tied to a real person(s) so it's way less likely these people would upload illegal videos, and if they do it can be directly traced back to someone

Yeah but then the amateur content creators OP referred to can just verify themselves and pick up where they left off or not? It seems too simple, what did i miss?

yes but again, kinda like with tumblr, there is a lot of loss, a lot of people created a small revenue on the platform, and a lot of less than popular content is gone. bye bye i guess to a whole bunch of trans porn, unless it's the weird trans porn cishet people watch.

they can just move to another platform, and now with onlyfans, there is an obvious/well known one. big monopoly websites are bad and give too much control to too few people (who are profit motivated against the interest of their users). have a thousand, or ten thousand trans porn sites, i say

yes but onlyfans is a paid service, so while they are probably gonna be better off, consumers in general are gonna get the short end of the stick. mostly cos im not gonna spend a cent to get porn of slightly better quality than what you find after searching deeply.

The most ethical form of porn consumption available to you is onlyfans, premium Snapchat, etc.

This is because sex workers get to decide what they post, how much to charge, who to share with, communicate/don’t communicate with, meetups, etc. Essentially they create their own boundaries and have full control over them (unfortunately much of it will be reproduced without their consent but I don’t know a good solution to that)

Yes it is still exploitative to a degree because onlyfans takes a big 20% cut and the fact that many women are doing this because capitalism forces them into this situation. However, that’s not true for all of them and it’s really the best way to cut out evil, exploitative middle-men who groom these women and men from a young age and force them to do scenes they aren’t comfortable with
