Sorry about the freeze-gamer posting. It's good news tho.

“We are for inclusivity, we are for diversity. If we think someone is uploading a mod on our site with the intent to deliberately be against inclusivity and/or diversity then we will take action against it.”

Nexus Mods, a place where you can find multiple mods for augmenting NPC boobs, is still more woke than every lemmy instance that isn’t federated with Hexbear.

I know it would probably be a fuck ton of work, but I’d love someone to create a mod that removes all pronouns from the game. Either awkwardly skips or pauses whenever someone says he, she, they, it, etc.

I'll just play games without trans stuff. 😠 Hey, what's this coffin in Dark Souls 2 do?

Does Starfield even require that you select pronouns? Most games I've played with a selection (Sims, Forza Horizon, Baldur's Gate 3) just default them to the characters' body type

It does and then completely ignores them. I select they/them and have been misgendered multiple times by NPCs.

So in that way it's pretty true to life

realism in games is getting out of hand agony-yehaw

And yet your robot buddy will call you Boobies if you entered that as your name.

It gives you the defaults for the body type and then allows you to change them if desired. I can’t imagine getting worked up over it, in like a billion hours of gameplay there’s 5 seconds easily missed where they acknowledge pronouns exist, the horror.

Yeah, like the rest of the game should be up their alley with all the copaganda and fash apologia there is.

Damn I didn't know all that. I quit an hour in after realizing the hype about the space adventure was pure bullshit and they made an inferior travel system to No Man's Sky

      I haven't played it myself.

It's a pity because Bethesda is historically an anti-trans studio who fired someone for being trans, from what my trans comrades tell me.

Yeah, I heard they fired an ESO artist who was trying to take leave for gender affirming surgery or something like that.

It's all rainbow capitalism until it inconveniences the bosses.

I don't think they're the same devs. ESO I recall is a different team under Bethesda publishing group, not game studios.

Yeah, ESO is from ZOS, IIRC that's Zenimax Online Studios or the like. Absolute dogshit company in general which is a shame because ESO is all the cool, weird shit in Elder Scrolls that the mainline hasn't touched since Morrowind outside of the brief aside in Oblivion with the Shivering Isles.

It defaults to the cis pronoun of your character. You have to actively change your pronoun, if you don't go up and select your pronouns to change them it's not part of the process.

Oh so it's okay to have honkin giga titty mods and dongs for skyrim but when I want to make my bideo gmae not political it's a bridge too far, I see how it is. I will NEVER use nexus mods for my sex needs EVER.

    Critical support for nexusmods

I'll remove the "critical" when they stop bowing to nerds like Arthmoor with his spurious copyright takedowns

They also have some pretty awful porn mods for keeping personal dungeons full of slaves

most everything along that level of risqué is on lover's lab, not nexus

And honestly? In an explicitly nsfw place like LoversLab I really dont see a problem with that. I mean once its out there for public consumption I guess its open to criticism but I don't really have a problem with "slave kink" (or whatever) stuff. Not my bag to go to that type of extreme but its kind of a whatever thing to me.

There's definitely a fundamental difference between "slave kink" stuff where the "slaves" are consenting participants themselves and literal slavery fantasies where all the slaves are horrified victims who just want to go home.

But also I don't really care because none of those slaves are real people shrug-outta-hecks

Yeah thats about where i stand about it. For me its that I know plenty of people with kinks and fantasies that dont match their actual ideology about the world. Commited leftists don't often talk about their kinks and fantasies (especially on here because of volcel jokes) but a lot of the ones I've spoken to privately are into weird shit that if exposed to a wider leftist audience would probably be criticized but like, they're totally comitted and principled leftists so?

Though I definitely get being suspicious of anyone who openly wants slave harems.

I wish they would leave but they won't because they need all the normal mods and people aren't going to upload their mods in more than one place.

This reminds me that people mad at the Skullgirls "censorship" are still doing review bombing and flooding update posts with unrelated bullshit. If they hate it so much I wish they'd just leave, having done their negative review and posted complaints, rather than stick around like some sort of shitty protest action.

Censorship is when you re-evaluate a work of art you made a long time ago and decide that it actually sucks and amend it.

Yeah, Nexus mods basically have 2000s Democrats or outright conservative and even fascist "fandoms."

    Edit:

I'm reading the article and it's saying that they don't care that they're leaving and aren't trying to court them?!

That's... a miracle. Never expected them but this is a positive development indeed!

Edit #2: Also, it appears I misread the title as well! Lmao!

Fan culture in general does this.
