I'm at the point where I don't think the dems are incompetent, they are willfully and maliciously controlled opposition.

Like, you can't honestly have this bad of political instincts to think that saying "the president wants to stop this bill that will give you $600 because he wants to give you $2000, fuck him" and think that anyone outside of the most dedicated liberal sycophants won't see you as the bad guys. Seriously!

No you see the headline is trump is stopping covid relief bill. That's what's plastered on the bottom of the screen. Trump is literally injecting covid into your eyeballs then curb stomping you

the thing about the DNC is that they didn't pick their constituency. They are exactly what the Republican party would be like if the Dems had managed to stick them with the black, latino & poor vote by doing the Southern Strategy first. They are the exact same party but with a different voting base and the DNC fucking despises their constituency, even more than the GOP does. The dems want racist whites so badly, you can tell by how hard they try to pander to them whenever they think they have a chance

It’s win win for him. He looks good outflanking Dems and republicans on the left, solidifying his base for 2024.

If they go for it, trump did that, but they won’t. Which means no $600, but”he tried!” And if they go back to the drawing board with more they can sneak more ALEC shit in there.

There is no losing scenario for trump in the specific situation.

Bro you're on a socialist website and you're realizing this now? All political parties with any power in all capitalist nations represent the interests of the ruling class. Yes, including AOC, Bernie etc.

Obviously I understand that they are a bourgeoisie party. I meant that they aren't a different party at all. I thought that, at some level (mind you most of this belief was pre-super Tuesday, ive been at about 10% since then) they were still interested in at least, ya know, winning occasionally. But I just can't believe they are anything but a fake party to just be something that isn't a republican at this point.

Well, they are different, don't believe that McConnell and Pelosi have some kinda neural synch going on in the basement of the Capitol. It's just that they're generals and footsoldiers in a bourgeois conflict that doesn't really concern us directly. The bourgeoisie disagree on shit all the time, they did WWI because of an intra-bougie conflict. The parties themselves treat winning more like winning a chess game, something desirable but not necessary.

I just watched the clip. She's upset about Trump turning it down because it will take too long to get people the relief they need. She goes on to say that the democrats have had to make concessions to the repubs about the amount to give individuals. I think this tweet is misleading.

In theory, if this was really her concern, couldn’t they ask him to approve this bill with a guarantee that they’ll immediately pass another bill that is just $1400 checks to everyone and nothing else?

they could even pass the extra $1400 first so that he wouldn't have to take their word for it

Well, Trump also hates a bunch of the frivolous spending that makes it an omnibus package. This is the content of his Twitter post - a surface level analysis (as opposed to my own conjecture).

This sounds like bullshit. Trump threatens to veto the $600 stimulus because it's not enough and the bill has a bunch of other shit in it, and supposedly Democrats had to give up more to move closer to that position?

I mean, they're awful negotiators, but that's still a stretch.

We've been waiting since March, but now they're turning down extra money because it might take too long. Ok sure.

My pipes burst 3 weeks ago, so now I need an emergency plumber, immediately. I don't have time to worry about who it is or what it costs, not when I have weeks and weeks of stagnant water ruining all of my belongings.

Yeah that's some real strong bullshit right there. Only a handful of Dems were even talking about getting people more money. The rest of the Dem ghouls were fucking happy to sit back and let Republicans set the tone in negotiations. They went along with Republican concern trolling about the national deficit. There's no fucking way the Dems were making concessions, they were more than glad to just give people $600. All the language from Dem leadership indicates that they "believe" that $600 is a major accomplishment.

Dems wanted to become the moderate Republican party and they successfully did that. Biden is basically George W Bush 2.0 and that's what they wanted. A "moderate" centrist DINO to reach across the aisle and work with the good Republicans who totally were not psychos before 2016.

They will spend the entire week now arguing that $2k is too much and people don't need it, meanwhile millions of people can't even buy Christmas presents for their family.

I hate that fucking party so much. They deserved Trump and I hope they collapse after getting their shit kicked in during 2022 midterms.

Also I'm kinda high and thinking about an alt-history future where this was put on a bumper sticker and people actually got the joke. You know how people have dorky little political bumper stickers that either give you a chuckle out an eye roll? Lol anyway...

Don't underestimate the media's fear mongering at times of crisis. The focus is always on the dangerous homeless/blacks/looters. Never on the violence inflicted on millions. Even the radlibs and opportunists are affected by such rhetoric, not to mention lumpen socialists. People are totally gonna buy guns.
