agony-immense

This thread in particular got to me today

The cognitive dissonance required to think Biden is on some leftist hot streak (ie Dark Brandon) is too fucking immense for me to handle

They get so close to asking the right questions and then some loser comes in and says something like “no you see, Biden crushed the rail strike because he’s on the side of unions” and just repeat the same weak rationalization in 38 other comments (Biden admin supposedly helped ONE of the many rail unions get ONE concession a few months later) and so now we’re supposed to be like “oh shit, Biden is fucking amazing for workers, whelp, off to the voting booths for me! Sign me up for another round of this guy!” completely ignorant of how it is transparently for optics before the next election, before he goes back to actively repressing labor

They're not even hiding it. They say "we have to bust the unions to protect the economy" straight up

"Oh, I'm pro-labour and believe in XYZ, I voted for X person, but listen, these idiotic people who have no education in politics or economics have no idea what they're doing when they ask for increased pay, or go on strikes, or try to create unions, or ask for basic labor rights. I think their lack of knowledge about the wage-price spiral is really disheartening and they're sabotaging their own campaign when they ask for more pay, as that will cause prices to increase equally (who the fuck is John Weston?). The economic impact of the strikes will just decrease the amount of money their already bare-bones companies can afford to pay them. Really sad to see these poor, poor people destroy themselves, as a pro-labour guy."

I do genuinely wonder what pro union things Biden has done in his career? They always say he's vocally pro-unions, is that it? He just says he likes unions? What material things has he done to make unions stronger?

Why do libs assume everyone wants to leave a positive leftist legacy. What if he wants to leave a legacy of "busted most union strikes."

And I did it as a dem on a dry year, Jack! biden-rember

I hope so. But I've been on Reddit since before it was worth astroturfing and they've always been like this. They see the world as if it was an episode of West Wing.

I'd definitely prefer astroturfing to real people behaving like that though so I choose to believe.

"It's a simply a tactical retreat in order to make a back room deal. My favorite politician is a shrewd deal maker and knows what's best for the peasantry" they say as they sip their franzia and caress their photo of Aaron Sorkin

They're already writing Biden hagiographies before he's out of power.

Biden probably needs an aide to help him pull up his pants and I'm supposed to believe he's some brilliant mastermind?

He's at the point in life where his family members should be talking about how they need to take away his car keys

so now we’re supposed to be like “oh shit, Biden is fucking amazing for workers, whelp, off to the voting booths for me! Sign me up for another round of this guy!

    Yea basically.

:yea: i do think its better to have Biden over Trump for striking workers within the U.S. because how much more hostile Republicans are towards labor rights. but this Biden being based epic anti-imperialist pro-worker President is very silly.

it's the same as always, Biden will fuck them while telling them he's on their side whereas someone else would just fuck them straight up

The first highlighted comment in the image is basically Tucker Carlson-esque "just asking questions" strategy of implying something but not proving it. Then if it sounds plausible, people just run with it, and with enough repetition it becomes consensus.

What if Biden is thinking about his legacy? What if he's thinking about cosplaying leftism before he croaks? Oh you're calling me a liar? I was just asking questions.

I truly enjoy all the comments on that post.

BUT, WHAT ABOUT (ISM) DONALD J. TRUMP? Would HE do a cynical photo op with his oblivious supporters??? I think NOT!!

This is kind of a big deal

was probably in the subject of the daily democrat shill email for cringeposters. Ive seen it said on almost every post about biden going to do a photo op with strikers.

I doubt that biden-rember's ancient mental faculties have the ability to think beyond thoughts such as "I wonder what flavor of ice cream's for dessert"
