This is either the greatest bit of the year or actually her

It honestly doesn't even seem unlikely to me. Like, one of Reddit's most active power-users was an eccentric and narcissistic rich pedophile, wow, what a surprise. I would've assumed they all are.

Reddit literally hosted one of the Internets largest forums for child pornography for years (only shutting it down after they got bad press on CNN), and even gave the man modding said forum a trophy. I couldn't be less shocked if Ghislane Maxwell really was an early power-user there.

        can you elaborate on this

I can't find a pic of the golden bobblehead they gave him but they 10000% did give him a physical, shiny, golden, snoo bobblehead because they liked him so much BECAUSE HE RAN A CHILD PORN SUBREDDIT.

it is notable that this is only something he ever said after he finally faced repercussions for running a child porn sub.

also, he talked about having sex with his stepdaughter a whole fucking lot and it was very fucked up and apparently it was investigated but no charges were brought but like jesus christ this guy is fucking disgusting.

it's violentacrez and holy shit I completely forgot about the carlh thing. weird how reddit had so much overlap with child sexual abuse. very curious. complete coincidence I'm sure.

i have no idea. last i heard he had leveraged his posting skills to get a legit job as an advertising person or something like that and that was like the most interesting thing about him

never really understood people's fascination with him tbh. he reposted things, oh no. like yeah he demonstrates some of the flaws inherent to the reddit "system" but that's not his fault lol

        https://gawker.com/5950981/unmasking-reddits-violentacrez-the-biggest-troll-on-the-web

You might be thinking of violentacrez, who moderated and founded a bunch of awful subreddits like r/jailbait and a bunch of racist ones.

He got exposed and fired from his job and he was like "noooo I was just trolling bro I swear"

There was also atnorman, who got arrested for some pedo stuff I don't remember the details about. The only links I can find about it go to r/chapotraphouse

Another likely part of this is that powerusers (to my knowledge) don't really get bogged down with too many replies. The only way you can be a poweruser (in the sense that your posts and comments get tons of upvotes, not in the sense that you're just online all the time) is to game the system by carefully choosing posting times, getting in early on threads, meming, copying shit that was popular the last time that thread popped up, and (in many cases) vote manipulation. That's a lot of work, and none of it involves being engaged enough with replies to make an issue out of someone misgendering you.

yeah I mean she just had to see how Saydrah was treated despite being the exact kind of piece of shit they liked

so this is like... over a decade ago... but she was a poweruser on reddit who mostly posted cute cats and shit, just generally interacting a lot and modding a bunch of default subs. She was a very early mod of /r/TwoXChromosomes and shit and was like one of those few people who would deal with the bullshit from being obviously a woman on reddit at the time. anyways, somehow people figured out that her day job was "social media liason" or something for like, something related to pets or something??? idk. (It was around this point in this comment that I have become 30 reddit tabs deep with 10 year old drama threads. don't be like me kids) anyways people got absurdly mad about it because they all KNEW that this meant she was using her mod positions for nefarious content promotion reasons (despite there being no reason to think she was doing more than posting things her job wanted her to post as well as all the other pet related content she was always posting anyways) so people got mad as hell and then there were repeated drama outbursts over things like removing negative comments about her on subs she modded etc. but yeah, she was constantly getting rape/murder threats and was constantly the target of misogynistic hate speech. But the whole thing was despite saying she had political posting about feminism stuff I always seemed to find her making excuses for misogynist dudes on there. Like, she was being about as milquetoast as she could possibly be about feminism and they still came for her with pitchforks. Like, she literally went and hung out with violentacrez and was on podcasts with him and shit while he was operating a child porn subreddit.

Oh also she invented the "Bacon Narwhal's at Midnight" thing for which I shall never forgive her, but good reasons to hate her like that never seemed to surface on her AMA threads where everything she posted was downvoted

yeah, and the thing was back then most people on reddit thought of reddit as being really liberal and people would push back really hard against any accusations of different treatment for women on the site etc. By the time Ellen Pao was CEO it was after SRS had kinda forced the issue about misogyny on reddit and the site as a whole had decided that they actually liked being the misogyny site and they were mad all some of the child porn was gone.

posting things her job wanted her to post

So she's a proto-gallowboob? I didn't know who she is but I hate her already, I don't care that she's a woman. anyone who posts on reddit for money should be murdered , especially in 2010 when reddit was way less commercial.

Libs and chuds: the rich deserve their wealth because they work hard!

The rich: actually posts on Reddit all day when not trafficking child sex slaves

Honestly, this does seem like the exact kind of posting she would have been doing while engaging in child sexual abuse conspiracies.
