As a group, furries are the best at networking and netsec, full support for furry red team comrades

Edit: I wish I could find the article but I read a great one awhile back about how furry culture involved a lot of self-hosting forums/etc for furry groups, so certain tech companies realized this and started recruiting for remote jobs from furry conventions

That's amazing lol, I had no idea. I'm a programmer but whenever anyone asks me about web security I freeze up. God bless sysadmins.

Im sysadmin-adjacent (I do ops and infrastructure stuff) so I got you on the web security, thank you for shielding me from horrible things like "javascript" and "writing unit tests" :)

You can find where it's being hosted and supply a takedown notice directly to the hosting company.

The ip address is for the actual box so you could also potentially DoS it, or hack into it. But those are probably illegal.

you would love the state of brazilian conservative twitter right now there are so many people using trump's profile pic as a protest while saying that if only trump had read their guru's book he would have succed on his coup it is great

i think he would be sent back by the supreme court or bolsonaro would be pressured to send him back by the military as it is not in brazil defensive interest be openly hostile to america like only the most rabid pro bolsonaro dumb dumbs would want trump here the more center right people love america, they are libs, and the left despises donald trump for multiple reasons so it is really hard he would have a better shot in russia

      Why? Webservers/apps aren't that demanding.

Redundancy and marginal ddos protection for starters, I guess if it's hobby-level it's not as important that there's as much uptime as possible but a slightly more distributed architecture is easy enough to setup and maintain. For security purposes it's much better not to expose your servers directly to the internet like this and rather stick them in a private subnet with a load balancer in front of it.

The one time I visited that stupid site it had a cloud flare DDOS protection thing, so they took some defensive measure at the very least.

Yeah, that likely sits between the domain and the server, but that doesn't stop anyone from flooding that listed IP directly

Could be a load balancer or something. Given that site’s horrible performance the couple times I checked it out, it might just be one server though.

You wouldn't make outgoing requests from your load balancer though, and a request from their image previewer to comrade furry's server is how they discovered the ip in the first place

But aren’t they vulnerable to a DDoS at the server ip?
