        You're absolutely right.

What do we call a violent militarist authoritarian corporatist extractive imperialism that's run by the international Bourgeoisie rather than the national Bourgeoisie?

And why should I care about a bunch of incompetent buffoons, many of whom were in the national guard?

My nation has its government soft couped every time we do so much as change a coal levy.

So forgive me the schaudenfreude of watching the US dress up a bunch of the same people in the Capitol riot in Khaki, give them a sleepover in said building, and puff themselves up thinking they're preventing a fascist coup.

Last time it was a joke. They literally let them do it. It would be extremely easy to prevent it, literally just pop off one tear gas canister and they would all start dashing. This is a show to escalate the situation and scare people.

This but they all act like they're in Vietnam.

"What are you going to do when you rotate back to the world?"

"I'm gonna start me up that restaurant I always been dreaming about. That is if Charlie don't get my ass. Whatabout you?"

"I'm going to marry the woman I love. Start a family."

I have the sneaking suspicion that none of them were issued ammo. I'd almost be surprised if they were even allowed to keep the bolts in their carbines and rifles.

A podcaster said they avoid issuing bayonets as much as possible because too many privates end up cutting themselves.

I remember making a sergeant nervous enough once that he collected all of the bayonets we had drawn while pulling "quick reaction force" garrison duty, because I was bored and the only person who knew how to sharpen them.

That’s great lol, if you want a leftist vet podcast you should check what a hell of a way to die. It’s got tons of stories like that and chill vibes.

Why don't they have like cots or sleeping bags or like a fucking tarp or at least put a towel down or something.

It's insane. They're just all directly on the fucking floor.

The cots the army has are super annoying to set up and filled with pre-workout stains and cum stains because soldiers are nasty.

Pre-workout is a powdered energy drink with some nutrients like creatine, you're intended to drink it before a workout (hence the name) but it's cheaper than a similar quantity of red bulls or monster. It stains because it's often dyed and because of the sweetener/creatine mix. Sloppy dudes get the powder everywhere and it crusts up if some water ends up there or sweat.

LOL look at this guy supporting the troops. Sorry they aren't comfy enough while they send us a message of overwhelming martial power

That's the thing, I legitimately don't get the messaging. They look like they're in a lock-in at a rec center or something. It looks pathetic lol

Gonna wheel in a ctr with prince of egypt on it in a minute.

damn the right would soooooo own us if they tried to siege the Capitol again, while it's being guarded by the National Guard. I would get sooooo triggered like the lib that I am

This is the scariest picture I've seen since before the riot or whatever it was last week. Feels like it's capital's way of saying "we're in charge here". Because if there actually is a kernal of revolution in this country - whether right or left - capital will use the military to absolutely squash it.

Capital's been willing to do genocide to protect itself before and THIS is the scariest picture? I think you mean after.

    It's the national guard, lmao.

they literally only have isaac from Walmart and jack the fedex driver standing between them and a fascist uprising

yet the fucks in the building won't vote for stimulus checks for these same people

I went and looked up if it's actually ever been tested and apparently there was a case in the 80's. National guard got quartered in prison guard apartments during a guard strike, to basically be temp scabs. The national guard got off on qualified immunity AKA the "I didn't know I couldn't do that" defense.

It'd get suspended in a heartbeat and then they'd all get off scot-free
