Chuds really are the biggest drama queens when it comes to any slight loss they have, aren't they? They lose one election and still have police largely on their side and freak the fudge out. All these whiny reprobates all over twitter and facebook bemoaning the loss of the republic and how the election was unfair and boo hoo mean Mr. Biden will take my guns away. Just take your L and go home.

Try losing every election. Then try losing elections even when you win because the CIA comes and kicks your shit over.

this is a dumb question probably, but say a succdem won, who would call the shots to kick their shit in?

if Bernie was any indication, a succdem simply wouldn't be given the chance to come into power in conflict with the interests of capital

I strongly suggest that everyone reading this look at the history of the CIA page of wikipedia, then look at the people who ran it at first. All long time wall street lawyers, not spies. The CIA is and has always been an extension of the wealthy, likely infiltrated in WW2 before it was even the CIA.

The CIA shows every incoming president footage of JFK being shot from the shooter's perspective. Intelligence agencies operate on the behalf of capital itself, not any elected official. They're the fist of financial power.

A socdem president would either immediately be collared and operate as any standard Democrat or Republican or within two years be assassinated by a suspicious loner type with a confusing and inconsistent mental health and criminal record. The only true power a socdem president would have would be as illumination into how the state effectively neuters any popular mass movement. President like that would help people see the masks melt off.

non-muh deep state answer: succdems just get their reforms reversed. capital would take the L if they absolutely had to knowing that it's not an existential threat

there'd be some business plot shit but the smart money would just wait it out

of course as we saw this spring they'll fight tooth and nail not to take that L

          they handle that themselves.

people are wrong because their systems are harmful and/or self defeating. not because they have some essential property of badness.

0.000% of Communism has been built. Evil child-murdering billionaires still rule the world with a shit-eating grin. All he has managed to do is make himself sad. He is starting to suspect Kras Mazov fucked him over personally with his socio-economic theory. It has, however, made him into a very, very smart boy with something like a university degree in Truth. Instead of building Communism, he now builds a precise model of this grotesque, duplicitous world.

This line is a masterstroke, even by DE's standards. I still think about it from time to time when I find myself talking about how bad the status quo is too much.

disco elysium's prose is god tier. i'm not even remotely interested in being a writer and somehow i'm jealous of it.

Also I knew the writers were communists or at least leftists of some kind because no one else could possibly write such viscerally real and often comedic lines about communism. If it were anyone else it would have been "ha ha no food" all the way down i'm sure lol.

              Oh they 100% are.

During the speech for their second win of the night, ZA/UM, the team behind Disco Elysium gave a special thanks to Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, the authors of The Communist Manifesto. In this acceptance speech for the Fresh Indie Game Award, Helen Hendepere said that the team would like to thank “some of the great people that came before us.” The people they shouted out included the architects of communist thought, Marx and Engels, as well as Russian painter Vladimir Makovsky, and Viktor Tsoi, a Soviet singer and songwriter. If you’ve played Disco Elysium, which features the vocal talents of the members of socialist podcast Chapo Trap House, you may not be surprised by these references. If not, I encourage you to read The Community Manifesto, which is about how a ghost called “communism” is haunting Europe. It’s pretty radical. https://www.kotaku.com.au/2019/12/disco-elysium-developers-shout-out-marx-and-engels-in-game-awards-victory-speech/

It's more of a city builder, it's pretty lib but the whole thing is parodic so it's easier to go along with it. Plus, there's something cool in the way that both the "communism" and "free market" constitutions result in the exact same game where you're only real goal is to perpetuate the power structures that already existed on the island.

Yeah, in my experience with being radicalized, this is the point that the gravity of our correctness takes hold. If someone is seeking answers beyond the typical bullshit, they'll naturally radicalize themselves as long as we continue to just exist as an alternative.

Yeah, but you came to us. That what I mean. As people radicalize because of worsening conditions under capitalism, having leftist spaces is crucial to organizing and directing that energy into the right places. Otherwise it's pointless.

those leftist spaces also have to actually be welcoming to newcomers too. this new site isn't so bad but the reddit cth was just awful to anyone who didn't know all of Das Kapital word for word. It's a pretty common phrase that it's "hard to be a leftist", cus it seems like the main thing leftists like to do is attack other leftists (neolibs don't count, but regular libs shouldn't be the enemy more than neoliberals or conservatives either).

kind of? im sort of out of activism now, but I was very much for the cause before I met other lefties, and when I got jaded with that whole scene, I kept going just directly to people in need for a while.

i comment here? but I would still be me in undiluted fascist hell. angrier, maybe. and im not aware of any organizing here.

See my other response, this is just a shitposting forum. I'm talking about spaces for people to go in their communities. Places like here are good for helping people who don't have that and might want to start organizing in a smaller place. I've gotten some good information here (occasionally, through all the memes)
