Kerry was the antiwar candidate by constantly going "I simply would've done the Iraq war better"
It’s because they don’t disagree about the goal, just wish it was done in a more classy way so they didn’t have to be embarrassed talking to the Europeans.
Libs: Excuse me Imperial Box Store worker, your management is incompetent and has the dumbest policies! If I were your boss, you could be much more efficient and expand to more places!
I dunno if bush is so much evil as he’s just a relative simpleton with all the shit that was going on around him. That he saw what was happening and didn’t have the common sense or courage to stop it is evil. But it was his cabinet appointees that really ran the show and oiled the gears of war.
Lazlow left Rockstar last summer; just to share some semi relevant trivia.
Your tips are frosted and your collar is popped. You’re listening to lil Jon on an iPod in a yellow Hummer. You pop a Smirnoff Ice to celebrate Reagan dying. It’s 2004
Don't worry... someday it will come for you too.
You'll wake up one day, go out in public, make a joke, and then have to explain everything about it because nobody around you was alive to know any of the references you've just made. And you'll be made fun of using words and phrases that almost but not quite make sense to you.
That is the day that you will realize that you've caught "the old."
this has already happened to me with my little cousins who don't get gen z humor
For how much the era sucked and I hated it, why am I feeling so nostalgic in this thread?
Three cathode ray tvs? Jesus, it's crazy how a lan party required hauling your entire computer tower somewhere.
Half of this site’s users learned that politics existed from this video
Nothing made me feel fucking old as fuck more than learning some users here are still in high school
I was still in middle school worrying about classmates turning me gay by leaving a hand on my shoulder for five seconds so I didn't care
My intro to political science prof showed us one of these JibJab videos in class.
Why yes it was a state school, how could you tell
This is what we had instead of a wojak meme about killing yourself because Biden won't do a socialism. It's kinda not bad in that context.
And Michael Moore was unanimously hated. remember the Dixie chicks literally torched their entire careers for daring to say “maybe we don’t go bomb a bunch of innocent people just cuz you’re pissed about this tower shit”? Lol
What? It was way worse. A majority of the nation decided that bombing brown people is okay.
2004 election was mostly a referendum on foreign policy. 2020 election was about domestic policy. People consciously voted for war mongering in 2004.
Sometimes this pops into my head still to this day. Somebody help me
I remember they had one that was like “it’s time, to bomb, sadam” I found on albinoblacksheep back in the day
It was this
Man the “América should burn everything to the ground in retaliation” years were something.
Incidentally I saw the abs page is still up which is pretty fuckin unbelievable tbh
I thought to myself, I hope someone archived newgrounds.com for prosperity...then I typed it in and saw that it still exists and people are still uploading original content there...fucking why?
It feels like Newgrounds is like that one line of code in a program that’s been around since the beginning of its product line that could be optimized way more but can’t, because if it were then it would just crash, except the site is like that for the entire world wide web
It feels out of touch and low quality.
It's like SNL after Trump--they didn't adjust their humor at all for the paradigm shift. They just use the same libbrain energy that flew in the 80s/90s/00s and it just misses the mark
Plus the animations in this vid legit look worse than the older ones. No mouth moving, mostly made up of quickly arranged JPEG scenes. Compare to something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKv6RcXa2UI
Also even their old libbrain videos have a little bit of criticism toward US politics. The 2020 one just feels like a description of what happened, with deliberate omissions of anything that could be construed as accusatory.
I remember younger me thinking "more waffles than a house of pancakes" was absolutely hilarious.
you can't just dump the heights of American culture into my eyes like that
Nothing will make me laugh more then Bush and Clinton impersonations. When they do them on the pod or on Blowback I snort laughing at work
