Yeah, only kids with the special spots get to do this. You have to be considered a "high achiever" to get into the closer parking spots. It's fucking insane.
"Yes, the crooked lines, the jumbled haphazard stars... it's crude vulgarity, profaning what is ostensibly a symbol of freedom, shows us the ugliness of state-sanctioned violence and suggests in its dark twisted depths that the entire apparatus of law enforcement is just a cruel mockery of protection."
I would say the expectation with American teenagers is that they will be allowed to drive to school once they turn 16 and forcing them to ride a bus instead is a major infringement on their freedom...
Half my school was a parking lot that basically generated revenue for insurance companies. There were cops standing by for the inevitable accidents as everyone left at the exact same time and ran into each other. Then the insurance folks would make your premiums skyrocket because you're a kid.
The school would have to pay for a bus, the kids pay for their own cars. :amerikkka:

100% little billy's designation as "high achiever" comes from the fact that his dad is a cop
It was clearly from his artistic talent

Every day I hear something new and terrible about America

It's somewhat typical for suburban high schools where kids start getting drivers licenses around junior/senior year.
Lol. In most of this hellstate kids start driving at 15/16
My school gave us bus passes and we had to take public transport.
That's not so bad in cities that have decent public transportation, but in the suburbs in rural areas you're only options are a car or a school bus.
Half the time a school bus isn't really an option, I know for me that would've been an extra hour and a half each way
