Holy fuck i completely missed that the first time. I'm sure MLK and Rosa Parks would really care more about this shit than the voting rights act!
For christs sale, kamala isnt even president. She used to be a senator and now shes vice president, the differences are almost entirely ceremonial
It's great how American libs are completely unable to fathom that other countries exist
Also unable to fathom history through anything besides political action and electoralism apparently. Like there were plenty of historical moments for black women, they were just a part of social movements, rather than a weird ceremony. It's the weird mindset that history isn't a process of social forces, but rather a collection of pub trivia facts about "important" people and events. It made me think of how there's a one liner for the cause of WWI being defence treaties and the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, when the causes were more complicated and span several decades.
Broke: Criticizing Bernie because he didn't look enthusiastic enough at the fancy party
Woke: Criticizing Bernie because he wasn't on the picket line with AOC
Or, I don't know. Maybe he was cold, old, and comfy. I don't see grumpy when I look at it. I see, lemme go grab a blanket and some tea...but then again, I'm in general a mostly nice person, not an asshole looking for reasons to be mad.
Especially with the bottom half of his face being covered. There's whole lot of reasons one might scowl besides grumpiness. Literally might just have been bright out.
"Most historic day for black women." These people are beyond saving really.
me, a woman, sitting in my pajamas picking my nose on the most historic day for all women, apparently:
It's kinda telling to me what these people prioritize. I fucking WISH the situation was reversed and a Kamala-type figure was trending on twitter while a Bernie-type figure was getting sworn in lmao.
Anyone else think it was kind of weird that they did Kamala first? I know what it's supposed to mean, but all it did was make me think Biden's running on borrowed time.
I think that's just the order its done in: https://www.inaugural.senate.gov/vice-presidents-swearing-in-ceremony/#:~:text=Just%20before%20the%20President-elect,repeat%20the%20oath%20of%20office.
Really? Huh. Don't remember that from the other inaugurations.
Wait maybe you're right, I just noticed that I misread the tense. Idk if it's a departure from the norm, and it's hard to look up since idk if anyone ever cares about the veep, lol.
