tbh I think it's fair game since China also blocks US apps. I just really don't care about it. When people try to turn this into some sort of ideological thing, it's mostly just cope. I mean sure, it exposes that the US doesn't care about free speech at all, but like, we been knew.

TBF American privacy laws are so stringent that no company would ever even consider selling customers' data to the government so that is a legitimate concern about tiktok

I'm sure there's plenty of pictures of American CEOs posing with the American flag, how is this any different?

"photo surfaces" in this context means somebody looked at a publicly available photo they were previously unaware of? lol

Isn't that just the flag of the CPC and don't all companies above a certain size have a CPC team within the company? This obviously isn't the ENTIRE team at Tik Tok, my assumption would be these are the members of the CPC team at the company.

I hate to put on my nerd goggles here, but technically that isn't a Soviet flag because it lacks the red star outlined in yellow above the hammer and sickle. Seems to be a flag specifically of the Communist Party of China, not the nation. There are other political groups in Asia still use the hammer and sickle as well: White H&S centered on red is the Communist Party of Kerala in India and a yellow H&S centered on red is the flag of the New People's Army in the Philippines, there are probably more out there I'm not aware of, I'm no expert on these matters.

No. This is the CPC’s banner, not the PRC’s. Also, the hammer and sickle is different. The soviet one has the handle of the sickle as a rod, whereas the CPC one has it as a more aesthetic knob.
